I noticed that it was an AP piece and then I got to wondering why I didn't see it on the news anywhere this evening. Weird, ain't it?

Article said that Canada-based company Cameco purchased it.

Wow, this is real news. It's been reported by the AFP, and is showing up in several local papers with big names. Doubting something that has solely been reported by Fox is a good idea, by the way.

I wouldn't know if it was on TV news bc I don't watch it. That crap warps your brain. Left or right wing, TV news is largely about scaring up ratings. If it wasn't on the news, it's bc it wasn't profitable at this point. There's no massive left wing cover up in the media. That's conspiracy nonsense.

For the record, Fox News is not a real news organization at all. Roger Ailes, the former media consultant for Regan, Nixon, and Bush, is the president of Fox News. It was created under his control in conjunction with the Republican party to create political spin.

He was working at NBC at the time of its creation. He left to create Fox when NBC was acquired by Microsoft, becoming MSNBC. He took 89 of the most conservative member's of NBC with him. This move left a vacuum of conservative thought at MSNBC and created the singled-minded and far leftist views now governing the the station (MSNBC).

Apart from supporting false stories a couple of times already, Fox is just ridiculous to watch. When you turn on MSNBC it's all leftist talk. One is fake and the other is damaged.

Real news comes from political journals, and can typically be found across several medians. References that you can check on are the best. Avoid watching TV news, it will warp your perspective. Much like politicians, media outlets often make money by supporting a cause (regardless of its affiliation).

I think at this point, we all want change (economic dowfall, high gas prices and what not). With that in mind we're all liberals, at least by the definition of the word (maybe not the typical label). I know, it sounds terrible doesn't it? We may disagree on how to do it, but don't let yourself become a zombie for either side.

I'm not insinuating that anyone is, I'm just making a general statement. There's a whole lotta zombies on both sides of the tape.

all well said but take the "hollywood" out of leftie vs rightie, liberal vs. conservative and push all that aside, find a political philosophy and believe it, support it but have a clear unobstructed unbrainwashingly influenced infrastructure in what you believe, know the truth lies somewhere in the middle BUT DON'T BE AFRAID TO CALL A QUACK A QUACK

I don't think it proves your statement exactly. It does show that Saddam was probably trying to create nuclear weapons, but was not there yet. This stuff wasn't enriched enough to even create a dirty bomb.

"While yellowcake alone is not considered potent enough for a so-called "dirty bomb" - a conventional explosive that disperses radioactive material - it could stir widespread panic if incorporated in a blast. Yellowcake also can be enriched for use in reactors and, at higher levels, nuclear weapons using sophisticated equipment."

Arguing over whether or not this war was warranted or not has no place now, the only argument that needs to be had is what we should do with Iraq.

To make an update on this:

I re-read this and followed up on it this morning. This yellow cake was stored in compliance with international law, following a 1981 Iraeli bombing. It was not weapons grade, and the UN (along with the US) knew about it and regulated it. There was no yellow cake that was produced or manipulated since before the first Gulf War.

Facts:

- It was not weapons grade
- It was not hidden
- It was documented regulated by the UN
- It had not been touch since before the first Gulf War

Result:

- There article is not a lie, but it isn't much in the way of news. That's why you didn't see it on your TV. A competing station would have blasted anyone for covering it like it was new news.

If you're interested in the subject. Here's a series of publicly financed videos. They are in the nature of true investigative journalism. I found them to be more informative than anything I've watched to date.

Thanks for the info JessJess, did my research for me!

Doesn't sound like much of a story, given what you've said. Obviously the presence of that stuff is not evidence of WMDs. Evidence of perhaps an intention to produce WMDs, but you gotta enrich that stuff first and that takes a lot more than someone's backyard lab.

Gives Hannity something to mouth off about though
