Celtics pouring it on right now. Unless there's a miracle, this one's over. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong by picking LA in 6. Gasol just didn't show up this series, and that's a big reason why the Celts will be hoisting the trophy. I'm a huge KG fan, and I'm proud for him to finally get his.

The biggest reason Boston's hoisting a trophy is because KoMe still hasn't learned how to play team ball. Even Jordan had other scorers he counted on... KoMe counts on KoMe, and that's it. That's also why he doesn't have a ring that Shaq didn't give him. He wanted to be the solo star... well, he's it. I couldn't get enough of watching him pirouette into the paint over and over, only to see his shot get swatted right back in his face... beautiful. Then, Rondo must have picked his pocket another 2 or 3 times... they had his shuck and jive all figured out.

I think it's great for KG. Guy's been in the league for 12 or 13 years, and never been to a Final... congrats to him.

Boston also beat the record for biggest margin of victory in a clinching Finals game. The previous record was 33 points by, ironically enough, the '65 Celtics over the Lakers.

Congrats to the Celtics and Paul Pierce on trashing the flying Kobes.

Yeah, a 131-92 score qualifies as a trashing, no doubt... and it wasn't even that close. Even Boston's subs kept pouring on points; but they pretty much let the Lakers score at the end. Even Big Baby dribbled one all the way down the court, and just stuffed it home with little resistance. It was pretty funny watching him dribble the ball the whole way, but he threw it down with authority.

Yep, the Celtics could have scored 160 if they had wanted too. I hope that this forever ends the Kobe/Jordan comparisons.

Being a Bulls fan I love seeing Kobe and Phil Jackson being brought down to earth, but I do not think you can blame Kobe for losing this championship. He is an amazing player and is right up there with MJ as one of the best players in history. One player cannot win a championship. The reason the Bulls won was because of Pippen, Grant, Rodman etc. as an amazing supporting cast to his heirness. Kobe has not has similar support.

Congrats to the Celtics on a great achievement. Congrats also to big baby and Rondo for their roles in bringing an NBA championship to beantown. They did the SEC proud tonight.

Ted,
What did I just post about no more Kobe/Jordan comparisons? Kobe is a fine player but he had a Finals that would have made Elvin Hayes proud. Pierce dominated him in the series. Kobe is no longer the defensive great that he is portrayed as being and no person has gone missing faster like he has the past 6 games since DB Cooper.

And that's precisely what I said. KoMe IS one of the most TALENTED players in the history of the league; but, the BEST players know how to use their supporting cast. He's not solely at fault for losing the Championship; but, he is at fault as much as the coach, who both repeatedly said it was all up to him. And, let's not forget that it was KoMe, as much as anybody else, who said there wasn't room in L.A. for 2 superstars, and, in effect, forced Shaq out. He basically gave the Lakers an ultimatum... make me the star, and get rid of Shaq, or trade me. If somebody's at fault for there not being a stellar supporting cast, it's KoMe himself. Besides, he has other scorers... he just chooses not to use them. That's what conceited people do... they only trust themselves to accomplish something; and it rarely works in team sports.

Even tonight, he flew around out of control throwing up desperation prayers from impossible spots while being double or triple covered. At one point, every Boston player on the court was either surrounding him, or in the vicinity, and he still chose to throw one up.:azz:

*Note to self* Call and leave message for KoMe stating: If 5 players are covering you, that means somebody else is wide open.

Championships are usually won by teams that have 2 or more superstars. Kobe only had himself and did the best he could. He could not match up to Allen, Pierce, and Garnett by himself. The real weenie in this series is Odom. I cannot believe I am even defending Kobe as I am not a big fan of his, but I just do not think this loss can be put squarely on his shoulders.

KG was not about to have bad back to back games. WTG Big man!!

I thought the Lakers would win in six and I can only blame this on being a huge Laker-Hater and I was scared they would win. If they did we would be listening to the Kobe/Mike talk ad nausem.

I am glad to the Kobe I know and dislike showed up.

Why does everyone think Fisher is a starter? He is not that good.

I feared that, too; but, primarily because I saw how Atlanta took Boston to task, and they weren't even a .500 team. But, they matched up better, I guess, and played above themselves. They also played team ball, too though... they don't have just a single lights out player, but a couple very good ones.

Congrats to the '97 Marlins....uhhmmm, errr...I mean the Celtics!! That was an incredible beatdown!! It was nice seeing Pierce, KG, and especially Ray Allen get theirs!! That was good to watch.

For the Lakers, what the *bleep* was that?? Holy Crap.... even the '07 Vols defense didn't lay down and cash it in that bad!! That was embarrassing and seriously unlike a Jackson coached team.
Hey Kobe.....karma's a b*tch, huh?? Enjoy that MVP trophy... and think long and hard about what that trophy represents....INDIVIDUAL accomplishment. That's the perfect consolation prize for such a self-centered a$$!!
At least now maybe you can concentrate on things that REALLY matter to you... like jumping over speeding cars and the like!! :glare:

One of the announcers said Kobe was the best player on the planet. I think that announcer must of meant the Mars, because Kobe was non existent last night.

As a Bulls fan I am glad that this fact was proven in this series. Never in a million years would I say this. I was only defending people blaming Kobe for the loss in the series. However, if you put Kobe in MJ's shoes with MJ's supporting cast I bet a Kobe led Bull's teams would have won a few championships too. They would not have won 6, but probably 3 or 4. MJ had trouble winning championships until Pippen and Grant matured and then the second set of three with Rodman. Kobe has Fisher, Odom, Gasol, and Vujavic supporting him.

I was shocked as the Celtics pulled away into an absolutely incredible lead. They just kept piling up the points. I felt that it was going to be the Celtics after the first game. They simply wanted it more and it became increasingly obvious. They deserved the win, and the joy they felt was compelling. I was happy for them.

Not liking either team, this series did not interest me in the least. I am really surprised at how easily Boston won the Championship after the Hawks and Cavs battled them. Heck, maybe the Cavaliers were the 2nd-best team in the NBA this year...

it's nice for KG. beyond that, all i can say is that the city of Boston has exhausted its last drop of sports karma and it will be a very long time before i feel good about cheering for them as the lovable losers.
