I still feel lucky living in a era where near perfection is playing in what might be his prime. When you think this amazing athlete may be sideline, or slowed back to join others, you marvel in wonder how mentally tough this guy truly is. And winning another US Open or Fathers day, would put it in perspective for Tiger Woods in paying honor to the man who drove him to the player we see today. Nobody in the game today has a stronger mind than Tiger. Earl Woods has a great deal to do with that.
It's beginning to look as if a 75% Tiger is just as good as the fields best. That's bad news the PGA members, but to young guys today, it may be sending a message. Join the marines and be one of the few, the proud a PGA top ten in the world.

Very few athletes today can make me rise up out of my chair. Michael Jordan could do it in his glory days, and recently Darren McFadden could since he was an Arkansas and I;m a hog fan. But Tigers Woods just brought my out of my chair with a scream of Holly Schutt!
That ranked as one of the best putts in US Open history. His second shot to get to that point wasn't too shabby either. I hope to post the replay video later on when I can find it.

What isn't to like about the guy? Unlike all these other POS pro athletes that knock up random woman and get arrested for drugs and what not, Tiger is actually a good role model. He donates to countless charities and is just a great guy. Anyways, that was one hell of a back nine. Those two putts were unbelievable and that chip in wasn't too shabby either. The guy is a stud.

He's the greatest, no doubt.... but I've never been much of a fan of pro golf. So, he doesn't really excite me.

Come on nation, it's time to give it up. Ole school guys like us never like change but when a phenom like Tiger comes around it's very rare. Just look how lucky we have been in out life time seeing some remarkable athletes,
If your old like me, you've seen a lot in 51 years. Wilt, Russell, Jabbar and Jordan in the NBA. And Butkus, Lott Peyton (Walter), and Montana in the NFL. Since I know squat about hockey, I realize that Gretzky was the sports poster buy and did great things in that sport. Secretariat, Ali and Edwin Moses, these are all very special performers on the sporting stage in our life times.
Jones, Snead, Hogan, Nicklaus and Palmer were all great in the golf world. But they couldn't compete with this guy. Tiger has to do the endorsement routine to the degree that this guys never had to. Sure equipment is better today, but you place Tiger and his mental toughness in their era and he succeeds. I don't know if you can say the same about all the above mention if you place them in today's world of golf.

Take your lumps crimsonnation, let this issue go. Because I'm not going to my room due to this subject.

Tiger may be the best in the sport currently, but the "ever" tag can only come with time. Golf's just one of those sports that makes a person yawn if you watch it enough though.

Yawn huh. Sorta like that Gardner Webb game of last season huh Td? Did a Wild cat player ever successfully hit a three pointer by shooting a baby? Yeah, I didn't think so.

One legged Tiger is better than everyone but one in the US Open. And we will see tomorrow if a wounded Tiger can beat a 45 year old. What a finish. I never thought he could birdy 18 from where his 2nd shot ended up. Once again, Tiger is the Man.

Well, I don't watch much golf.... but that was a very exciting finish today, with Tiger sinking a putt at the 18th to force a tie-breaker tomorrow. Thats clutch.

d3, if you played the game, you'd realize that what you watched was like going yard on a 3-2 count in the bottom of the 9th in the World Series, like breaking free for a TD in Overtime, or hitting a half-court shot a millisecond before the buzzer. Whether Woods wins today or not, he has definitely added to his lore with his performance in this US Open.

Mediate is the quintessential journeyman who has fought a back condition which nearly ended his career several times. One of the truly friendly guys on Tour, if Rocco won I don't think you'd hear anyone complain.

I cannot believe this is going to Sudden Death.
Both of these guys deserve to win, and it's harsh that only 1 actually gets to.
Must say, though, that Tiger will come out in Sudden Death and will win.
If sudden death was on a Par 3, I think it goes to Mediate, but with it starting on a Par 4, it'll go to Tiger.

Oh, and Tiger's shot out of the Bunker onto the Green was possibly the best I've ever seen.

With Rocco going into the Bunker on the 1st hole of Sudden Death, it is officially Tiger's to lose...
