Stassen has Steele's listed:
2008 Preseason Consensus (http://preseason.stassen.com/consensus/2008.html)
Hopefully this LSU.net compilation will grow to include the mags and other late to the party sources:
2008 Preseason College Football Polls (http://www.lsufootball.net/articles/2008-preseason-polls.htm)
Just checked up on this long lost link with yet another comparison:
College Football Poll - College Football 2008 Preseason Rankings Comparison (http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/preseason_comparison.html)

Sitting here watching Drumline and catching myself looking ahead to the local band FIRING IT UP on Friday nights and on Saturdays. Good times.

I read several blogs regularly and one of them EDSBS (http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/)
almost always gives me a laugh or two. Orson is a twisted individual with a gift for bringing mirth and merriment to the proceedings.
I look at rankings like Steele's and I wonder how in the world anybody calls Georgia overrated.

Not sure who Phil Steele is but he can piss off.
Considering that pre-season rankings mean about as much as how many times you wipe I find these rankings interesting. Alot of talk about UGA being preseason number 1. Thats fine and dandy but I will take 5 and not have that #1 target on our forehead all season. The only thing that number 1 brings you is a sure fire guarantee that EVERY team you play will bring their A game and expect to knock you off.

Refering to the LSU.net compilation.
Putting OSU before LSU and Florida is a crime.
Past experiences show that LSU & Florida > OSU
Granted the teams are different this year, i still don't think it's right :thumbsdow
I will admit that Clemson is a good team, but #9 good?
Just another example that Pre Polls mean nothing

Get ready, they are already talking about OSU sucking up another NC game again this season if they beat USC during the regular season.
What is it about OSU that gets people so damned riled up? They play in a weak conference and when they go up against a real team they get exposed for the suuuuuuucky team they are. PERIOD :brick:

Ill take a top five ranking right now. It gives us something to play for and it doesnt put that big target on our back. Maybe people would get off our a$$ and just let us play football, or maybe we are still overated at 5 who knows.

Ohio State will be exposed on September 13 2008. They have no place to hide. When Tressel takes his mighty Buckeyes to LA to take on South Cal in the Coliseum he and American will find out then that they do not belong to be mention with the likes of Florida, LSU, Georgia and even Oklahoma. I think the Tulsa Hurricanes would beat them. But Tressel chooses to play only one big dog every so often, he doesnt need a mid level team such as Tulsa embarrassing him on his quest for BCS glory.
After the smoke clears at seasons end, and the pollsters look at Ohio States record of 11-1 with that one huge loss at SC, then it will be then that they realize that 11-1 with the cupcakes they schedule isn't worth a Hill of beans and should not allow them in a BCS bowl. It won't happen, But it will be a crime if they do play in THE BCSCG this year with the one loss. I'll take a 10-2 Georgia team any day of the week against Tressels bunch. As far as that goes Auburn deserves it more them he does.
Hell by season's end the 2-10 Arkansas Razorbacks would give him a run for his moolah.

Imagine the all out war that could have been if LSU and UGA would have went toe to toe in the BCSCG last year. That would have been one fore the ages.

Am i the only one hoping for a Ohio State/Georgia NC and to see Ohio State get embarrassed by a third different SEC team for the third year in a row?

Ohio State is the next closest thing to being irrelevant. Because they may make it to the national title, but the SEC is sitting there waiting for them. If they lose to USC however, you can forget it, they won't make it in with one loss and that creampuff BIG 10 schedule.
