Bammer is used in the same way I have been using all of the other derogatory nicknames for other fans.

It is used in negative ways and almost always in an argument or as a way to degrade 'Bama fans.

It is used to indicate poor education, someone that is monetarily poor, lacks teeth, beats their wife, wears flip-flops, chews baccy, etc...

It is always used by rival fans in this manner. The term originated from the dark bowels of AuNeck land as a way to mock what they perceive as the inability of Alabama residents to pronounce the word Alabama, hence Bammer.

The word Bammer is not that big a deal, as leghumper, AuNeck, Corndog, etc... is not. The thing is, only the word 'Bammer is allowed on this board, none of the others are. Use 'Bammer all you like, but allow the protected ones to be insulted also. That is all I am saying.

I could even get into the routine of not using the word leghumper, corndog, AuNeck, etc... as an insult, just like "a few" of you do.

I could say things like:

Exactly, at that time I was amazed at the amount of people on this board who viciously and mean-spiritedly were calling 'Bama fans by the name of 'Bammers. It was always used in a smug and sarcastic way.

Naturally, I started using all the other nicknames for fans of other teams. That upset them, they told me, at the time, that only stupid 'Bammers were to be labeled as 'Bammers.

All other fans had to be called by their proper nicknames like:

Tiger fans for LSU and Auburn fans
Vols for the Tennessee fans
Bulldogs or they said I could use Dawgs for Georgia fans.

But, I was advised that 'Bama fans, out of all fans here, would be called whatever people wanted to call them, whether it be 'Bammers, stupid 'Bammers, as many here say "Bamers", redneck Gumps, inbred toothless wonders, etc...

It was told to me that 'Bama fans had the short end of the stick here and were kind of the favorite punching bag and that is just how it had always been and I wasn't going to change it.

Not much has changed, all the twits in here are going right on with the jabs and hits at 'Bama, it is routine, they don't even realize they are doing it because it has become so ingrained in the culture of this board.

Let one person come along and use some equally stupid names for some of them and they start pissing their pants in anger. It is quite comical.

They say, "he needs to be banned, he called us leg humpers, he called us AuNecks, whahahahah, all the while they are calling 'Bama fans every name in the book as if that is completely natural. Were they ever reprimanded for it by the SuperMods, no way, but I was.

Mark Richt is classless as it gets. He has hoodlums on his team who stomp on poor little Vanderbilt's logo, he tried to stop them, but a team has it coache's character. I don't know what he was so mad about, he has taught them to be who they are on the football field.

He organizes mass disruption at football games and threatens his players with punishment if they don't follow his orders. That is very low class for a coach to do. In fact, it is unprecedented.

Lastly, he grins like a jackass on the sidelines when his players are doing a sex simulation dance on the sidelines and on the FIELD of play. He doesn't care what his players do, not only that, he encourages them to not follow the rules that the NCAA has proscribed.

He is a renegade that needs to be stopped. He sucks as a play caller too, he had to give that job to Bobo or they would have canned his ass. That isn't really important though, there are lot's of coaches like that.

I didn't read this whole thread, but I already have an opinion of CAD. People don't have a problem with the nick names, they have a problem with the context you are using them in. Every body on these boards gets ribbed a little bit, but you take it to a level that is more than just ribbing.

GatorNation has informed me that 'Bammers are the trash of the board, basically, and being that, they are the only ones who shall have vindictive, sarcastic, harmful nicknames used when referencing them.

He has told me that auNecks is too mean but 'Bammers is fine because 'Bammers are just stinking old 'Bammers.

These are not his words, but by refusing to allow any posters to use any nicknames to describe rival fans while promoting and protecting the use of the term "Bammers", what else can be taken from his post in an earlier thread.
