He's won 11 or more games every years he's been at LSU.

He's won a national title, conference title and two divisional titles in three years.

If you take Saban's winning pct. from 2001 to 2004, years where he had comparable talent to what Miles has now, Miles has been better.

And as far as LSU fans being so defensive, I can't imagine any fanbase in the SEC that wouldn't stick up for their coach, if he had such a track record, if someone called him an idiot.

I have to agree. I've had my doubts about Miles and I still question alot of his coaching decisions, but you can't argue with the results. Les Miles, plain and simple, has been the best coach in the SEC since he arrived. That doesn't mean I have to like him, though.

LSU has definitely been the best team in the SEC since Miles arrived; but I'd also say they were the best team, consistently, since before he got there and Saban was at the helm.

I hope I'm saying that about Houston Nutt after this season...

But I agree with Miles being grossly underrated. All those who claim the "Saban's Players" thing are just grasping at straws. You can put the best players in the world on one team and if they are poorly coached, they won't win. Miles is a great motivator and a hardass, but he's got balls to back it all up and that makes him a good coach in my eyes.

Plus, raise your hand if you didn't crack a smile when, back before the SECCG, he finished that presser with "Thanks. And have a GREAT day."

Miles is not only a good coach, but he is an outstanding family man and a head coach who supports everything that LSU does. He's at every event, sporting and otherwise, and his kids are huge participants in childhood sporting events, and Miles and his wife are always in attendance. He's a fine man and a good role model for his players and everyone else.

truth hurts. let's call people names..that will help get your OPINION across Mr. Tough Internet Guy. Seriously, if you can't post without calling people names, you would have nothing to post about as if everyone is stupid who doesn't agree with you.

How is that dumb? Its actually 100% fact, you can check the stats. Miles has been bashed for the most part by Bama fans trying to warrant Sabans struggles. Basically trying to belittle Miles to shine light on Good Ole St. Nick. Saban recruited well at LSU brought them a title. So did Miles. Also and this is my favorite part to warrant Miles as a solid coach in the SEC. Here it is I hope everyone is ready for it.

Go to ESPN.com and check out the college football area. It has a little thing about recruiting for next season. Guess whos up there. I know, I know, Mark Richt is a shoe in but also...DRUMROLL.....LES MILES is number 2 right now. He CAN RECRUIT and the scary thing is he can also COACH. Thats right so for everyone MILES IS BRINGING IN JUST AS MUCH IF NOT BETTER TALENT, and well you can check out the stats for yourself the guy can coach better to. HAVE A GREAT DAY!

because that means if Miles is doing good, that means Saban is an average coach with great talent... something bama fans will deny til the ends of earth. no way bama fans will ever give Miles credit as long as Saban is their coach. it will be interesting to see their excuses when we continue to win w/o Saban's players.

I'm not particularly a fan of Les Miles but you have to give credit where credit is due. He wins games and that is all that matters.

les miles underrated?

is he not the highest paid coach in the NCAA now?

IMO thats not that underrated... and if anything... i think he may be overrated

I don't worry myself with Miles or his record but I'm certain that most Bama fans like to give Miles a hard time not to "belittle Miles to shine light on Good Ole St. Nick" but because of his "fu__ing Alabama" statement.

Well if anyone ever read anything from your fanbase on this site people would get the impression he is a terrible coach.

34-6 that is Les Miles record at LSU. That warrants being the highest paid coach in the NCAA if you ask me. As for his comments towards BAMA ive never heard them, and I dont care, this is about his on the field accomplishments and eaither way you look at it he wins, and winning is what matters.

Im with the RAMP on this one 100% if LSU wins this season and next season and continually in the future what will you have to say about his coaching. I see how Sabans recruits were built into champions by LES MILES. Saban didnt build them into the champions they were last season, drop the pouting about LSU. Its starting to look like Bama is in envy of their winning recently.

Note I said recently, spare everyone the talks about the history of Alabama football.

i do not argue his coaching abilities... the man takes risk and we saw this season how well he can coach...

but what he does the next few seasons will warrant him his contract... what he has done the past 4 seasons is a great accomplishment... but does it make him the best of the best?

i would put him 4th on the list of SEC coach's and there are few (and when i saw a few i mean very few) coaches in other conferences that are in my eyes a better coach than les also...

Mark Richt, Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, and even Tommy Big Eared McGee are better than Miles... and Stoops, Rodriguez, Carrol, and Tressel are on the same level also IMO

and thats not even mentioning the coaches that are still around who have done more for the sport, yet slid off the past few years like Bobby Bowden and Steve Spurrier...

personally (and my opinion may be biased) but i would put him at like 8 on the list of NCAA coach's... but he has won and should be given respect where respect is due...

lets see what he does this season...

u have every right to hate les miles for that stupid statement but give him his credit on the field. Saban hasn't been exactly the perfect gentlemen either in his comments.

Every coach has made stupid comments, although I cant recall Richt ever making a statement that upset alot of opposing fans. Didnt Saban compare loosing to ULM to 911 I mean it happens. This thread is specifically about on the field accomplishments and since Miles has been at LSU hes second to none. End of discussion.

Got to give Miles his credit right now that's for sure. The real test will be in a couple of years though, if he keeps this up...he will keep my respect.
