View Full Version : The Sig bet thread!!!
As we are now inside 3 months away from kickoff.... I've noticed that ol "I'll bet a sig" phrase getting thrown around A LOT. So, here's your chance to put up or shut up! If you've committed previously to a signature bet, make it known here. If you want to make one, state so here.
GatorBait has a couple with me, He's going to be sporting a UGA sig AND a Braves sig before December rolls around

Braves...Sure.
Braves...Sure.
Remind me again where the Mets are in the standings? Oh yeah, 4th. Get used to it.

I'll give ya that you've got Chipper.
...
Oh, yeah, that's it. Chipper won't keep you're team in the race all season-long.
Here's some food-for-thought, though.
The Braves and the Mets have the same amount of losses, and the Braves have 2 more wins (thanks to 2 more games).
Last 10 games for the Braves: 4-6
Last 10 games for the Mets: 6-4
Bet it feels great to have that solid lock on 3rd place...

Whats the Mets record vs. the Braves this year? Hmm...

Oh, and not to jam this in any more, but the Braves also have the WORST road record in the Majors.
Yes. Worst as in last place...Behind the Mariners, who are the worst team in the Majors.

Once the Mets play anywhere near as many home games as the Braves have, you'll see them at the top of the East.
For the record, the Braves have played 6 more home games

lol. What's funny is the Braves and Mets are sitting behind the Phillies and Marlins. Thought I'd point that out.

Don't worry, you'll always be a better fan of your team because you can actually claim to have ties to the team, and not be just some fool who jumped on the band wagon because you thought they were going to be good (unlike a certain band nerd in orange who I won't mention.... oh well, guess I just did)

Well...My dad was born and raised on Long Island.
There's no sports team (other than the Grizzlies) in Memphis.
So go bark at someone who gives a flying bag of dog shit!

I'm not certain the Grizzlies qualify as a sports team.

Honestly, I pull for the Suns more than the Grizz from time to time. I was born in Phoenix and moved to Memphis when I was about 2. I've got it there, but I really need to change that over to the Suns. I really kinda cheer for them equally, but it's more of a function on how I feel for the day. Either I'm wearing my Mike Miller jersey or my Steve Nash one.

Oh, and they qualify as a sports team, just not a pro sports team

Memphis is closer to :
The Royals
The Cubs
The White Sox
The Reds
The Astros
The Braves
The Nationals
The Phillies
The Brewers
The Tigers
The Indians
The Pirates
The Cardinals
The Rockies
The Orioles
The Twins
Than it is the Mets. So don't give me that geographical bs. As far as where your dad grew up, who gives a flying f? My mom grew up in Chicago, I'm not a Cubs fan, even though I could be one of the thousands of idiots across the country who chooses to be a fan of a team because "its cool." I'll even hazard to guess you've never been to a Mets game. Yeah... some fan you are. Tuba practice awaits, band nerd.

Actually, I have been to a game.
For one thing, I was a Met fan before they had Mike Piazza.
And we lost the game in the top of the 9th inning. John Franco was put in and he gave up a 2 run homer, and we couldn't come back from the 1 point deficit.

Well, to be fair to crusse, I've never been to a Bengals game, or a San Jose Sharks game, but that doesn't make me any less of a fan. I have however been to Reds and Celtics games.
See, now this brings up a debate, because when a team is doing good, you're jumping on the bandwagon even if you don't leave anywhere near them. I have no reason to pull for the Sharks, and there's no bandwagon to jump on. Nor was there when Pitino left UK for Boston. So why is this different than when someone jumps onto other teams? Because they're winners. But the Mets aren't really this year, so I don't see a big problem.
Got any more ***** responses that you think you can back up?
Oh no.... just that I hope you enjoy your infraction points.
So **** you very much!

There are few things that I can't stand.
1 is ignorant assholes that think they know everything, when in reality, they know nothing. Infraction or not, I stand by what I said cause it's true.

You act as if I'm afraid of you; like what I type means nothing because I can't back it up. You know absolutely nothing about me, so why do you even bother?
Oh, that's right.
Ignorance.
Makes sense that you like the bulldogs.
