In doing so we will see just how much a genius Reggie Herring is suppose to be. The =real improvement will be at Texas, where the bast coordinator hire was made in Will Muschamp from Auburn.
I think Ole Miss Houston Nutt made a wise choice in Tyrone Nix as well.
Will Muschamp may be a Broyles award winner in a very short time while he's at Texas. A true head coach in the making without a doubt.

I agree. I have been wondering if the Big 12 was going the way of Pac-10 with the offensive output we've had the last two years. Last year for example we had 4 of the top 7 offenses in the nation.
Nice to see defense being a priority for many still.

Joe Kines is A&M's DC. Reggie Herring left A&M about a month after he was hired. He's now with the Dallas Cowboys. link (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3238652)
I'll definitely keep an eye on A&M's defense. If Bama's 2003 season (CJK's first year as DC) is any indication, it will be a rough year for the Aggies' D, but I expect a progression similar to the one I witnessed at Bama. Coach Kines is a class act and I hope his defense will dominate the Big XII.

The only difference I see, and it could matter very little, is that the Big XII has a LOT of no-huddle spread offenses. Baylor/TTech/Texas/Missouri/Nebrask(hybrid WCO/spread/no huddle)/CU/OSU(no huddle, not spread) and now OU is going to start making the slow transition into the no-huddle offense.
As I said, this may mean little, but I don't think the SEC has dealt with this many spread offenses before. Now granted, I know he slowed down Tech's offense, but with that defense and the amount of seniors, I don't know if any good DC couldn't have done what he did.
Plus, the variety of differences of no-huddle and/or spread offenses in the Big XII, it is not like you can prepare for a Kentucky every week and be okay.
It is odd how the Big XII is right now and as a conference as a whole, we are definitely unique imo. At least as far as BCS conferences go.
