Unbelievable... they are STILL going after him. Basically they did a 8 minute long special on how Bobby Reid thinks Gundy is a liar who only made that speech as a front. ESPN failed miserably to convince me though, as the only thing I saw was an unappreciative kid who can't handle competing for the starter position. Deplorable of ESPN to air this kind of crap. The fact that they would facilitate this kind of whining by giving it an 8 minute segment is a joke. But apparently ESPN is still intent on trying to belittle the man who won the hearts of the nation and beat the media at their own game.

of course they will unite and go after anyone who calls them on the carpet...alot of journalist are scum and ESPN is the armpit of sports. I would love to see CSTV grow to the point that ESPN suffers

CSTV doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of making ESPN suffer.

Why? CNN doesn't have a monopoly on the news media.... no reason why another network couldn't challenge ESPN for the sports media. Maybe not anytime soon, but it could happen.

Fox could do it if they wanted to. But they are all about the NFL.

And D^3, you are absolutely right about Reid. He was a legend in Houston and was told everyday how awesome he was. And even though he never showed it in the media, it appears he bought into it. His ego couldn't take not being the starter.

However, I can agree with him being upset since Gundy did convince him to stay at OSU(for another 2 years) and be the "future of the program".

Wasn't right for Gundy to do that and bail on the kid at the first sign of trouble after you promised him what you took away.

I don't think Gundy faked that speech though. Hell, I was told that several OU players had said they'd play for Gundy after that speech. It is hard to fake the amount of grammar errors he had in that speech after knowing that he is a very good speaker.

I think that's a very valid point. I'm interested to know what it was like out there after Gundy's rant and the aftermath. Any insight since you're out there?

I was in OKC a few weeks ago and talked to some locals about this. They said that Bobby couldn't cut it on Saturdays. Plus, the kid that replaced him broke all kind of OSU records. I saw the part where his mother said they never got a reason why Bobby was yanked. Thats the reason you freaging idiot, The other kid has proven to be better. Promises are promises, but Bobby needed to live up to his end of the bargain. Noone will give you the job if you have proven you can't cut.

Sadly that's true(it's CBS College Sports, btw). If FSN couldn't beat ESPN on equal footing, what chance does CBS College Sports have of beating ESPNU and FSN College Network?

It's a big joke in the Big XII now that some coach may pull a "Gundy" and go nuts.

But at first OU fans were split 50/50 on it. Those that just hate OSU trashed Gundy. Those that knew better, thought it was a good thing. Plus everyone hates that reporter...she's a snake.

That said, the majority of the Big XII was in support of Gundy. Those that hate OSU more than others still talked trash, but you are going to get that.

You also get a lot of jokes now about Gundy. But beyond that, it's not to bad. Unfortunately his rant in support of his players was canceled out by his dropping a schollie to a QB commit that had been committed for 8 months like 2 wks before. Texas coaches were pissed. HS coaches.

Gundy was emotional and a bit over the top, but just b/c a kid doesn't get to start anymore does not mean the coach is a jerk. the QB who took over has a good season and proved that he was worthy.
