From the Bruce Springsteen web site.
Dear Friends and Fans:
LIke most of you, I've been following the campaign and I have now seen and heard enough to know where I stand. Senator Obama, in my view, is head and shoulders above the rest.
He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next President. He speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music for the past 35 years, a generous nation with a citizenry willing to tackle nuanced and complex problems, a country that's interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit. A place where "...nobody crowds you, and nobody goes it alone."
At the moment, critics have tried to diminish Senator Obama through the exaggeration of certain of his comments and relationships. While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision, so well described in his excellent book, Dreams From My Father, often in order to distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our Constitution, and the protection and enhancement of our environment.
After the terrible damage done over the past eight years, a great American reclamation project needs to be undertaken. I believe that Senator Obama is the best candidate to lead that project and to lead us into the 21st Century with a renewed sense of moral purpose and of ourselves as Americans.
Over here on E Street, we're proud to support Obama for President.

Some of my all time favorite musicians have tainted themselves by using their platform for their political opinion. Just shut up and sing, thats why I bought the album or the concert tickets.

Bruce said it best when he said "trust the art not the artist." However, I agree with him on this case.

Amen! The Dixie Chicks made that big mistake as well! The less we know about their views, the better for them!

Hard to trust Springsteen's opinion after he dumped his babe of a wife for that shank.

Sadly, they had to cancel. One of them has Hepatitis C and needs to undergo treatment then. Widespread Panic, Les Claypool and a few others were added because they canceled.
Damn dude, VIP tickets are awesome. I really want to take that route one day. I've heard it is awesome.
I'll see you there.
When Hollywood and the music industry starts supporting a certain candidate... I usually make sure NOT to vote for that person.

I'm not even sure if I am a republican or a democrat any more. Politics has become so f*d up since the internet became an everyday addiction for Americans. You just don't know what's real anymore.

oh really? do you have a hot key on your 'puter that is programmed to type that same line over and over and over? If I pay money for an album or tickets I don't want to hear their opinions, even if I agree with it. If wanted to hear political talk I could turn on the TV or radio and get it for free.
this may sound bizarre to you but there are alot of people who don't see everything as blue state/red state/democrat/republican. You should give it a try sometime. Seriously.

The only thing worse than musicians trying to talk politics are actors trying to talk politics. Sorry Zartan, but the liberal celebrities made their own beds here. People dont respect them because the actions and the views they have expressed in the past have been so out there and ridiculous, how could anyone take them seriously? Examples: Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, etc. etc. Dammit Janet, Danny Glover, etc. All of these people are an embarrassment and a discrace and coincidentally they all happen to be liberals.

Springsteen and Eddie Vedder are the two worst. If I were at a concert it wouldn't bother me that bad if they just mentioned their opinion but these two guys make their entire concert about their opinion.
I think Springsteen would be for anyone who is running against the other party. He chooses Obama only because he thinks he has a better shot at winning. I do find it hiarious that all the people who backed Hillary and Bill for so long have now stabbed them in the back for a freshmen senator.

The amazing thing about Nebraska was it was his follow up to Born to Run. Born to Run was his break through album that made him a star, so he follows it up with an album of depressing sleepy tunes about a depressing sleepy state in his basement with a guitar and a harmonica. I love it too.

She wants to be dirty. Thrill me chill me fulfill me. Susan Sarandon
Funny story a friend tells. His friend who works for Pyramid Brewery giving tours happens to be friends w/ Tim Robbins, who as you know is married to Susan Sarandon and is friends w/ the before mentioned Eddie Vedder. So, Tim Robbins is in town and out to dinner w/ Susan Sarandon, Eddie Vedder and this guy. They are at their table eating dinner, this guy and 3 celebrities, when someone comes up to the table and says "hey I know you. you're the guy who gives tours of Pyramid Brewery"
