I have said before in previous posts that the true ultimate goal of the terrorists is the establishment of a worldwide Caliphate. This view has been dismissed by some on this board so I would like to post this story from Fox news on a recent sermon delivered by Islamic cleric & Hamas member of the Palestinian Parliament. He lays out their goals quite clearly.

A sermon last Friday by a prominent Muslim cleric and Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament openly declared that "the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital," would soon be conquered by Islam.

The fiery sermon, delivered by Yunis al-Astal and aired on Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV, predicted that Rome would become "an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe."

"Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion," al-Astal preached, "so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da'wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world.

"Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our prophet Muhammad," he added.

Al-Astal last June preached how it was the duty of Palestinian women to martyr themselves by becoming homicide bombers.

"The most exalted form of jihad is fighting for the sake of Allah, which means sacrificing one's soul by fighting the enemies head-on, even if it leads to martyrdom," he said in a June 23, 2007 interview.

"When jihad becomes an individual duty, it applies to women too, because women do not differ from men when it comes to individual duties," he said, calling Jews "the brothers of apes and pigs" who should "taste the bitterness of death."

Friday's rant repeated that theme: "Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam.

"I believe that our children, or our grandchildren, will inherit our jihad and our sacrifices, and, Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them.

"Today, we instill these good tidings in their souls – and by means of the mosques and the Koran books, and the history of our Prophets, his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire at whose brink they stand."

There you have it in their own words. This war or "jihad" is not about US policy. It is not about our support of this or that country. It is their desire to spread Islam around the world by force.

Anyone who thinks there arent groups out there with that goal are amazingly naive....then again anyone who thinks one man speaks for countless groups is pretty close-minded.

He is a Hamas member of Parliament in Palestine. He may not speak of everyone over there but he does speak for enough. Hamas is controlled by Iran and is closely tied to Hezbollah. Hamas does not breath without getting the clear from Iran. Why can you not accept this as their true intentions when it is coming from their own mouth?!?

When did I say I didnt believe that is their true intentions?? But since we're talking about what "they" really want how about changing your thread title to what "Fundamental Islamic Group 'x'" really wants. He has close ties to Iran so of course they want to convert the whole world to Islam. They think that is part of their role in ushering in the Imam(or one sect of Islams return of their saviour...like Christians trying to speed up the return of Christ). Who doesnt know that a group funded by people like that want to convert the world? But dont say thats what "Islamist" really want. You sound like Rush Limbaugh when you do that. Go out and find the craziest left wing quote you can find and then say "this is what liberals think". You're doing the same thing. I can say "What Christians really want" and then talk about speeches given by the crazy anti-american homophobes but it would still do no more than represent that certain group of crazy zealots. Dont get me wrong, Im not defending any terrorist group or any group that wants to enforce its own religous views on the world. Still, Im not a big fan of umbrella terms. If you had said "What Hamas really wants" and then linked to the speech I would have no problem. But to suggest that you know what "Islamist" want seems to me to be somewhat egotistical.
