He needs to let it go. The risk just does not seem be worth it to me.

The story really doesn't say what the risks of re-injuring his neck would be; but it's good to hear that he's fit enough to do it, should he decide to. One thing that remains to be seen is if he'll be able to shake the nerves to be able to play aggressively. It sounds as if he's a bit gun-shy, if he wants to play a different position to avoid certain kinds of collisions. He has every right to, after what's happened, but I'm not sure you can be much good to your team playing defense that way. I wish him the best, whatever he decides.

I don't think he'll know what 'gun shy' is when he steps onto the field. That's what worries me. I'm hoping he hangs it up.

If he can play to the level he is used to then I say more power to him. But if he leads with his head on hits there is a very real chance that he can break his neck again above the fused area just like Mike Alstott almost did.
Whatever he decides I hope he has the best possible outcome. I saw him at the WLOCP last year and he looks like he has lost alot of size since his surgery. Hopefully that came back when he started working out again.

so sad when you got a guy like perrilieux crapping his talent away when a guy like Pollack getting the short end of the stick
