Okay, peeps. Here's the idea. Let's see how long this thread can go and how many pages it can get up to. You can post ANYTHING you want here. ANYTHING AT ALL. How your day went, what your wife/gf yelled at you about. ANYTHING.
Something tells me GB will have the most posts here.
So here goes:
Does anyone besides me abhor diet drinks??? I mean, I know they have less calories yadda yadda yadda, but I can't stand the aftertaste they leave in your mouth. Even Diet Dr. Pepper. Whoever said it tasted like regular dr. pepper should be shot.

I am not a big fan of carbonated drinks in general. They are basically liquid syrup. I prefer juice and beer.

I love the vitamin water stuff. You get a little flavor and not much, if any, sugar.
I only drink coke when I need some caffeine.

Yea, I like the vitamen water and gatorade too. Even if the gatorade was made in Gainesville. The Gatorade research center is in my hometown though. It is in Barrington, IL. Remember those commercials with Derek Jeter training on a bike. That was in my hometown.

I can hardly force down a diet drink. I only drink Mountain Dew, sweet tea, and beer. Any kind of beer is ok. I bought a 12 pk of Miller High Life Monday cause it was on sale. Blue Ribbon, Busch, Busch Light.....All of them are good. I drink Bud and Bud light on payday!!!

Took a test last night then skipped out of the rest of class with a couple other guys and went drinking. Watched the Preds lose. Hit on some MILFs. Played darts. Good time all around. Right now I'm drinking coffee and singing along with Bob Marley because I'm still a little drunk. Don't have to go into work until 2 so that's nice.
I never drink anything diet. They all suck.

F- the preds losing. That sucked. Still, you have to be impressed by the job Trotz is doing this year. We lost a BUNCH of great players and our best goalie and somehow we are still in it to go to the playoffs. When are people around Nashville going to start noticing the great thing we have here in this excellent hockey club?:brick:
Where do you play darts at? I'm a steel-tip guy myself.
Bburton86
03-12-2008, 10:42 AM
Yeah, they were the gay plastic tipped shit. I couldn't shoot worth a shit because none of it would stick but everyone else around me was hitting everything left and right. I really like The Villager Tavern in Hillsboro Village for darts. They definitely have the best setup. But I was playing at Jonathan's in Cool Springs. I only go there because they have 2 for 1s pretty much all the time.

I have a nice set of tungsten darts which I love. Wilhagen's off of Murfresboro Rd has a nice steel-tipped set-up. I'll have to check out the Villager sometime.
I can't throw worth a crap on the plastic tip either. It's a totally different animal.

I'd check out the one in Hermitage, It's closer. We're getting a Lowe's in Mt. Juliet too, soon. And a Super Walmart.
I hate my job. I sell fuel cards to Over the Road truck fleets. It is sooooo boring. Which is why I am always on here. :D Just want to find something with less pressure and that is more flexible so I can go back to school.

I had to go to work or I probably would've drank beer on the porch and watched those broads clean up my yard.:king:

From 1999 until 2002 I took a S10 Blazer and posted wins at every major SPL event in the Southeast. Perry, GA Daytona Spring Break Nationals, Nopi 3 times, tons of B'ham and Atlanta shows, Knoxville, Charlotte, etc. At Nopi Nationals, 2001 I set the SPL world record at 161.5 db's in stock class. We had 8 Memphis amps on 2 Digital Designs 15's. We had an alternator from an ambulance and our battery plant was ten 8volt Golfcart batteries wired up series/parallel to come out to 16volts. Instead of a volume knob, I just had a button that I would push to bust off a bass note. This is called "burping" your stereo. I usually got about 8 to 10 burps out of a set of subs before they started dropping off and needed to be rebuilt. MTX sponsored the truck at one point but their RFL subs were only good for 3 or 4 burps so we went back to Digital Designs. When it comes to competing SPL, you have to know your sh!t because so many things are involved, you have to have a good understanding of electronics and 12volt electricity, wood working skills are a must. You need to know algebra and physics, how else will you be able to design a box and figure a port that will be tuned to the resonant frequency of the vehicle, not to mention accounting for things like time delays, standing waves and bass cancellation caused by everything from distance to angles and even reflections from the back of the box and the front of the cab. I miss it.

I miss it.

To make it easier to understand, its a competetion to see how loud you can make a car stereo. They have a meter called a RTA (Real Time Analyzer) and it is attached to a special microphone that they put in the car. It measures SPL (Sound Pressure Level) and reads it out on the meter in DB's (decibles, a measurement of sound). It probably sounds corny putting it like that but it is actually pretty big, I've outgrown it now and moved on to bigger and not really better things but it was hella fun back in the day. Tons of people are into it, stereo competetions go hand and hand with custom car shows so you get to see alot of cool stuff and meet alot of good folks.

It happens quick, I couldnt even estimate how much money was tied up in this truck, luckily for me it wasnt mine. It belonged to a friend with money to burn, he footed the bill and I designed/built/maintained it. After the first year or so we got the truck sponsored so that helped alot but he still spent a fortune on gas, motels, entry fees, herb, etc. Some of those shows could have entry fees as high as $60 so it was nothing uncommon for us to pull up in the parking lot and watch 3 or 4 people get back in thier car and leave. Before the Blazer I competed Sound Quality, which is a totally different animal. This was with my own car, it was a 89 CRX SI all decked out, motor swap, wheels, paint job and tons of mods. I won some shows but nothing like SPL. In Sound Quality, you are not only judged by the sound, but also by the looks, cleanliness, custom work, showmanship, etc. It sucked, I had to trailer the CRX everywhere because it would get dirty when you drove it to the shows. In SPL, you can go mudriding before the show, show up with candy wrappers and coke cans under the seats, bust off a number and head to the house.

I came up with a great idea today. I am a substitute teacher and each day I wake up at 6:30am and get ready for school and then wait for a call to see if I am needed. Half the time I get no call, so I sit around on this board for a couple of hours typing haiku and then go back to bed at 9am if they do not call.
I realized this was really inefficient. Instead of waking up I now just leave my phone near my bed and if they call I use the call as my alarm clock. This way I have longer interrupted sleep if they do not call plus I don't sit around for an hour and a half wondering if they call. This way if the alarm rings I work and if I wake up at noon, I don't. It is a win win situation. I either make money or I am well rested.

Been looking for a Nintendo Wii for almost a week now, best lead I have right now is to be at wal-mart early Sunday morning. That sucks, I like to sleep late on Sunday but only the strong survive.

It'll be worth your sacrifice my friend, I've played them all and nothing is as fun to play as the Wii. You'll be glad you gave up the sleep when "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" finally comes out. Also, the Zelda game rocks as does Metroid.
