Newbies dont know how good they have it. These days you can get 2 reps and its worth a bar. Back in the day, you were lucky to get a rep worth 5 or 6 pts because nobody had any rep power, it would take months to get a green bar. When most folks repped you it was worth 2 or 3 pts with the exception of maybe Neo and Geauxto. The good ol' days.

Tim, here is how I understand it, could be wrong, but probably close anyway

Every 1000 post = 1 pt
100 rep pts received= 1 pt
Every year youre a member = 1

Just something to talk about to kill the time. When its all said and done though, folks pay much more attention to your posts than they do your rep. Although, neg reps have led to alot of good arguments.
