I have a lesson plan where I have to teach them a dumb poem and then they have to write their own. I am so going to teach them a haiku if there is any time at the end of the class period. I have to teach a poem in I guess what is called four square design. The poem I have to teach is about a barbeque. Then they have to write their own. I wrote my own to give them another example. Here is mine:

I know a college football game
Everyone dressed in bright orange
The playing Rocky Top
The as the players run through the T

the sugary taste of coke (these are 6th graders remember ha) as kickoff nears
The smell of hot dogs as the ball is in the air
