Some big-name coaches will be gone if they don't have big seasons, some will be on double-secret probation in 2009 without a strong '08, and some just need to turn things around and make their already good programs special again. by Pete Fiutak

(Here's the complete assessment on each coach (http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/7877320/20-Questions:-Coaches-that-better-deliver))

THREE WHO'LL BE GONE WITHOUT A BIG YEAR

Chuck Long, San Diego State

Greg Robinson, Syracuse

Mike Stoops, Arizona

FOUR WHO'LL GET ONE MORE CHANCE EVEN WITH A BAD '08

Steve Kragthorpe, Louisville

Mike Price, UTEP

Ty Willingham, Washington

Charlie Weis, Notre Dame

THREE COACHES WHO WON'T BE FIRED, BUT NEED THEIR MOJO BACK

Mack Brown, Texas

Kirk Ferentz, Iowa

Steve Spurrier, South Carolina: Wasn't the Ol' Ball Coach supposed to be able to just show up and make any SEC team an instant contender? Unfortunately, the rest of the league just got really, really, really loaded with top-shelf coaches such as Nick Saban, Les Miles, Urban Meyer and Bobby Petrino to go along with established A-listers like Tommy Tuberville, Mark Richt and Houston Nutt. In other words, Spurrier is just another great coach in a league full of them. He worked a little bit of magic in his first two years and injuries took their toll on last year's squad, but now it's year four and this is his program — the buck stops under The Visor. The SEC is a cruel, heartless place, and while Spurrier will never be fired, the five-game losing streak to close out last year means he has to produce now and show the Gamecock faithful that yes, you really can win in Columbia.

I agree with that list but I would take out Charlie Weiss and Mack Brown.

Charlie Weiss has a huge contract and is bringing in top talent every year in recruiting. The players are getting really talented and i look for the Irish to be a very solid club this season especially with the signings of the last two top 3 classes theyve brought in. He is also an Alum of ND and they would be stupid to even think about firing him in the next 4-5 years with the amount of talent going into that program.

Mack Brown is one of the most underated coaches in college football. All the guy does is win and is a couple of years off of a national title win. Texas had a decent year last year with a big bowl win. If they even think about throwing this guy the AX i would look for an SEC school to scoop him up.

As far as Spurrier goes I think he has done a fine job against SC. Carolina isnt a pushover team and they are getting some talent in there making them scary as heck to play. Sure they arent a top of the line SEC football school but that doesnt take 4-5 years it takes more time than that and anyone who thought Steve could get a team to the title game or let alone a BCS this quickly is just simply irrational.

Nothing about Fulmer? Other than that, good read.

I am scratching my head as to why Stoops is still at Zona. The guy every year is supposed to have that break through year and never does. At some point he is going to have to win. After that it will be back to OU for him.

I have never seen a quicker fall then what Ferentz has gone through. He used to be the hot coach to go to the NFL. I think he was pursued by a few different teams, but never went. He was the highest paid at one point. Since the Iowa win over LSU in the Citrus Bowl, it has been all down hill for him. I think he will get the can if he doesn't do well next year.

Weiss I think will not only get next year but the year after that to turn around ND. It all depends on that defense. If Clausen develops they will have a decent offense.

Another one that has to produce, which I am shocked they didn't list, was Fulmer. After the Alabama game, he was on real thin ice. He came back and won the East but I don't think the UT fans were over joyed. A lot of them want him gone and at the sign of another average year, I think the fans will push him out.
