View Full Version : Herb Streit dissing Dawgs....

Mr. Metrosexual spews forth the following:
"Georgia has to be considered one of the most talented teams. Look at schedule: going to SC, ASU, LSU, Auburn and playing Florida. That has to be the toughest schedule in the country. If they survive, they make it to the SEC championship. There is no way that Georgia gets through that schedule, no matter how good they are."
There ya go, there ya have it. Mr. OhowIhate State has said it: There is no way that Georgia gets through that schedule, no matter how good they are.
Hmmm....no matter how GOOD they are. That really says it all doesn't it?
Boys & Girls, let me state this for the record: I don't give a Tinker's damn about the schedule as the the Sport of Football is NOT for pansy assed metrosexuals who are afraid to bleed. Being in the SEC means you face a murder's row annually ANYWAY as well as some longtime rivals who stand ready to ruin your season because that is what rivals do!
You'd think that after the last few years of having to choke down all of these predictions of theirs gone wrong that the self-professed experts at E$PN would have at the very least accepted the fact that the SEC is that superior to all others. Alas, we can see that by virtue of Kirk's remarks that he has not learned a damn thing as his homies have been sent limping away with beatdowns the last two seasons after running roughshod over the inferior Big Rust teams. The other darling of the GameDay crew, Chokelahomo, has rewarded their pomposity with a stellar 1-4 record in their most recent Bowl games including two of the storied program's most embarrassing Fiesta losses: the choke job to the ever crafty Broncos of Boise State and the beatdown by WVU.
Yo Herb Streit, it didn't matter how good YOU WERE when the Dawgs smacked your overrated arse around did it? Then it won't be so hard to eat those words when December rolls around.

So, it's "dissing the dogs" if a person doesn't think they can go through that schedule undefeated? Let me tell ya CK, Herb isn't the only one that believes that...and I don't think that's a disparaging comment towards UGA...it's realistic thinking. I think Herby has finally realized how freakin' tough the SEC is.
Believe me, after the lobbying Herby did prior to the '06 MNC...I'm no Herby fan...but he said the same about us in '06. "If the Gators get through that schedule without a loss...or, with one loss...they deserve to be in the NC Game." Of course, he changed his tune at the end.

There is a long history between Kirk & UGA and the feelings are mutual, something few outside fans know. His mouth has continually written checks his on-air persona couldn't cash, particularly the last two seasons.

Funny, it sounds like Herbstreit has been reading my posts on here about the Bulldogs. That is exactly what I've been saying on here all offseason.

it's so funny...Herbie gets crap here in Columbus for becoming a pro-SEC stooge since he got the ESPN job, and southerners think he's a Big 10/11 shill.
the perils of commentating, i suppose. if you say anything that some fan doesn't like, you get written off as biased.

Like I said, Herbie has shot that mouth off once too many times and he never says he's wrong, same for his pal, Mark May. Herbie will always carry with him the arse whipping the Dawgs gave his overrated butt just like May will whine and cry because the Dawgs knocked his Pitt boys outta the MNC game in '80.
Only our bud Reece Davis is fair and balanced on the GameDay crew as all the rest shill for anybody but an SEC team.

I didn't have a problem with Herby until that night prior to/of the '06 BCS Bowl Selection show on ESPN...he lobbied so hard and all but cried afterwards because UF got in over Michigan...I believe he puts on a facade for his college gameday show...but when it comes down to brass tax...he's a bigX homer all the way...and that sequence of "begging" he put on proved it.

A SEC team can still lose a game and if they win the SECC can still play for the NC. I'm not so sure about losing 2 games again, like LSU did last season, because you can't count on the whole top 25 to have the crazy turnover like it did: that's what saved LSU from falling out. But a one-loss UGA, UF or LSU that wins the SECC will most likely play for the NC.....

A fair and balanced 'Bammer at that. Folks in this state could learn a thing or 2 from Reece. Chris Fowler is pretty fair too(I don't recall him pimping up Colorado back when they were worth a damn).

That's the problem with most of you barners, you think you're thinking. Believe it or not and learn to like it if you don't but Georgia will be BETTER in 2009 than 2008.
Unless you're over 60, renounce being an awebernite, and a Republican, you've zero chance of being elected to anything in Florida. :D

I have to go with Hunter on this one. The Dogs just have to go out and prove the guy wrong on the field. I think it is much better for the Dogs to have these talking heads saying they can't do it. It will make it much easier for Richt in the motivation department.

Herbie said it last season prior to the Gator and Aubie wins. Just as he did the previous season when he was selling the Meechigan -OhowIhate rematch, the clown went out of his way to denigrate UGA and then started selling Hawaii! He's past being a tool and well on his way to becoming a fool!

Well, we all knew Hawaii was going to get killed. June Jones was talking smack and he didn't have the athletes to back it up. You could see, visibly, before the ball was snapped, that UGA had Hawaii beat.
But these comments, these comments have credence. But of course I agree, I made them before Skywalker did, and I love the SEC.
