This kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. Any guesses here?
Terrelle Pryor, who didn't sign on National Signing Day, will sign with Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State or Oregon by April 1. Among the factors being discussed include location, the offense, the coaching staff, early playing time and the talent that would surround Pryor. He might try to find time for a return trip to Columbus, as well as another trip to Michigan. "I'd like my mom to see both places and Penn State," he said. "So we're talking about a day trip to both Ohio State and Michigan, and she'd come along with me on my Penn State trip."

Oh.. that. And I thought you was going to say overrated 18 year olds with inflated egos. So its just the mom thing then.

Kind of the same thing I was thinking. In reality I think most do.

It's rare that a kid doesn't bring at least one family member with him. It's something Pryor and Mallett have in common with 99% of college football recruits.

I hope pryor completely sucks at the college he chooses. He is so full of himself and he's milking this attention as much as he possibly can.
Or maybe he really doesn't know where he wants to go.

I say let the kid decide where he wants to go. I think all the fans are giving him a hard time because we're all so caught up in National Signing Day, and we want all of the classes to be finalized then so we can start bragging about how great our school's class is and how bad someone else's class is. Pryor is doing what is completely within the rules. He doesn't have to sign until April, and in reality, he doesn't even have to sign. He can just enroll in the school of his choice after he graduates from high school.
Also, I believe him when he says he hasn't had time to carefully look at all of the schools. He's in Pennsylvania, and he's looking at three out of state schools. If he plays football on Friday nights, then it would be very difficult for him to make it for a visit to any of those out of state schools on a game day. He would have to fly out on Saturday morning, which would be possible, but keep in mind that both Michigan and Ohio State play early in the day on Saturday more often than not. Then, a trip to Oregon would be ridiculously time consuming.

I hope and pray that both of their careers emulate that of Ron Powlous.

While I basically agree with most of these sentiments, I have to question why he's still waffling at this point. I mean, really, what makes him any different than every other top recruit, that he couldn't have considered all his college choices already, and made a decision? All the top guys had about 20 or 30 offers to consider, and they didn't seem to have any problem picking one in the alloted time. Personally, I think anyone who's waited this long is taking advantage of their notoriety and making a spectacle while the light's in their faces, and/or they're bargaining for the most or best perks for him and his family. Maybe his mom wants to look at all the new houses and jobs she'll be potentially getting for being the person who gave birth to a star athlete.
Being the primary beneficiary of a blue chipper, who has all the coaches in the country tripping and slobbering all over themselves, has its own rewards; and they're frequently substantial, as the mother usually possesses unchallenged influence over the choices her child makes. It's only prudent that she consider all her offers as carefully as her son considers his.

See, I wouldn't say that he's taking advantage of the process because the process says he has until April to make a decision. He will sign with a school in the allotted time. Even if he doesn't, he can just enroll in the school of his choice, but I certainly don't think he'll take that long.
