This move will help Cleveland immensely. Wallace was not a good fit for the Bulls as we did not have a big man that could score and post up and guard the opponents big man and low post threat. Cleveland has Ilgauskas, so Wallace is free to roam where he was most effective with the Pistons.

Well, they definitely should be a force; although Wallace isn't much of a scoring threat. He should add defensive and rebounding help, though. I guess that paves the way for Noah to be the starting center for the Bulls. He's been outplaying Wallace anyway.

Although I don't follow the NBA in the post-Jordan era, I will say that from what I've seen in BW is that he plays better with more "seasoned" players than he does the "young bucks".

In Detroit he had Rasheed Wallace that would defend the opponents center and also was an offensive low post threat. Therefore, he could guard the power forward and roam off of him defensively to make blocks and collect rebounds. Chicago does not have that low post presence, so he played the center and he was unable to roam. Wallace is like a linebacker who is more effective with defensive lineman that demand a double team that allow him to run wild. At Chicago he did not have that, but Cleveland has Z. Ilgauskas, which will allow him to play like he did in Detroit.

I think you're giving Big Z way too much credit here. The guy is pretty much a stiff after his multiple leg surgeries.

But this is still a great trade for Cleveland, it gives LeBron the impression that they're trying to improve the team, it gets rid of Larry Hughes crappy contract and also brings in a more accurate shooter in Sczerbiak. Plus I think getting Delonte West is a steal.

But the Sonics have come out like bandits this year. They've got 13 picks in the next three drafts.

It is not so much that the Big Z is a great down low threat, but he does have a post up game and can guard the opposing team's center. Two things the Bulls do not have. He gets a lot of blocked shots, has a low post game, and can hit an open jumper. The Bulls had Aaron Gay and that was it.

I think ya'll are overemphasizing the impact he'll have on Cleveland. He'll help...but Ben Wallace wasn't the difference between Cleveland winning or losing against the Spurs last year.

My Celtics just whipped 'em, and we'll continue on our trek to championship #17.

I agree. I just said it was a good move that will help the team be tougher on defense. What team does not want that? I would have loved to have kept him a Bull, but we need scoring from that position and cannot afford a multi million dollar shot blocker that cannot score. Cavs still need another scorer to relieve pressure off Lebron.
