I have a 95 pound golden retriever and I can't get him in the bath tub to give him a much needed bath. I already got my 65 pound dog in the tub and gave him a bath, but the other one just lays down when I try to get him in. Any tips??? :brick:

Dude, that is a HUGE Golden!!

Anyway, My golden loves baths and water in general, so all I have to do is say "hop in the tub buddy" and he's in. My advice would be to get his favorite treat and put it in the tub where he has to get his front paws in, then shove his butt in.

You need a big, walk-in shower and a shower head on a wand. That'll solve the problem.

And be sure to use no-more-tears dog shampoo or baby shampoo. It should be mild.

Lift weights. Drink your EAS Myoplex like Brady Quinn tells you. Pick up dog. Place dog in tub. Close shower door.

Option #2: Forget the bathtub.

Take dog outside.
Tie dog to tree or post (if necessary).
Hook up garden hose to faucet.
Turn on water.
Blast dog with water.
Lather dog with shampoo.
Blast dog again.
Dry dog.

Maybe add to this: Let stinky dog watch clean dog get his bath, and maybe stinky dog won't be so apprehensive. Also, before "dry dog", I'd insert: "back up really fast, and let wet dog shake"... then dry dog. Dogs who are new to bathing try to dry themselves right away.

 Stinky dog watched clean dog in bath the whole time, and still wouldn't take a bath. The small dog hates water (WTF?!) but once I started shampooing him he like it. The big one loves water but we've never given him a bath.

We have a Pug that weighs about 12 lbs. I've found giving the dog a bath is both quick and easy, Here's what I always do...

1. Sit down in recliner (A.K.A. Daddy's chair)
2. Find something good on TV
3. Pause TV
4. Tell my wife the dog needs a bath.
5. Restart TV.

That like torture! That tap water is crazy cold coming through that hose. Then again they're dogs with lots of fur, so I don't think they'd mind much. . .

You could always call Paris Hilton over.

But then again, maybe your dog is smarter than her and doesn't want a disease.

Be honest, were you standing in front of that tub right now and she invited you in, you would dive in head first.
