Im a wine drinker and while I appreciate a good wine Im frugal......meaning I enjoy often a simple table wine

I have a friend who is 2nd generation Italian American transplanted from Boston to B'ham......well for years he will come back from Italy w/a homeade Paisano and Ive always enjoyed it ......one day in the Grocery store I notice a cheap wine (the kind in the Gallon bottles), a Carlo Rossi Paisano.....so I try it and approve it and ive been drinking it weekly for around 4 yrs now....its $11 a bottle (gallon sized bottles), it's delicious ....and CHEAP

I do. I prefer red wine with a good Dominican or a Monte Christo whenever I can get my hands on them

Yeah, but if I write it down, I'll just lose it, so the next time Im about to go to the grocery store, you better be around waiting on a pm.

I like homemade wine, but my wife enjoys pinot noir and pinot grigio. They are pretty good.

Sometimes I'll buy a box of wine, take the bag out, and just drink that the whole night. Sometimes there will be a little left the next day, but usually I can down the whole thing. I usually get Franzia (pink or white) or that other one that's always in the grocery stores. Yea I like a little table wine I guess.

I like chianti which our friend USCRebel refers to as "peasant's wine." One of my favorites is Marcaroni Grill's chianti and can be bought cheaply at liquor stores in my area. I'll look around for the Carlo Rossi Paisano.

I like a good austrailian wine, but for my small glass nightly before bed, it's just Franzia chillable red, very good for a cheap wine and the box will serve about 40 glasses. The chillable red isn't a dinner wine, more of a desert wine, they have dinner varieties though.

Thanks for the recommendation, Aza. I'll try it for sure. I'm usually a Shiraz or a Pinot Grigio guy, but I'll try anything on a recommendation.

For the price, you can't beat Charles Shaw. I've only ever seen it at Trader Joe's. They call it 2 Buck Chuck in California, 3 Buck Chuck everywhere else. Its better than a lot of $20+ wines. I'm a beer guy, but if we're entertaining its a good wine at a good deal.

A like a good, strong, robust peppery/spicy red. Table wine is fine for some purposes, but it's just a bit meek and mild for me in general. Give me something with a bit of guts in it.

Unfortunately, a bottle of good red tends to be a bit pricey so most of the time I stick with the pale imitations.

I don't know if you guys have a Total Wine store near you, but I buy all of my wine there. I recently tried a very good wine in an Italian restuarant and they sell it for $7.99 a bottle. It is called "McManis", it is bottled in Califorina, they make both Merlot and Cabernet. Have you seen the Spurrier wine, It is a collectors item to raisie money, so far it has raised over $75,000.http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o68/dougjy/spurrierwine.jpg

When I'm entertaining guests for a meal, I always struggle with whether to break out the Boone's Farm or the MD 20/20.

You should always have some Wild Irish Rose on hand so as to give them more of a choice.

I like a good Merlot. Even the cheaper wines like Ernest & Gallo are good. I got a massive hangover from jug wine once (its Ruby Tuesday's house wine) and won't touch the stuff again.

Ahhh, nothing like a fine, economical, screw-top wine to bring up thought provoking questions around the toilet, such as "When the hell did I eat carrots?"
