Here's the official link to the Ole Miss Sports list. I wish I was at the Signing Party as opposed to class.

Dang...y'all are going to have a HUGE class numbers wise (32!) & looks like quite a bit of good talent too. How many are y'all counting on playing right away? Quite a bit of it going to be RS'd or no?

I'm not sure to be exact. The WRs may get redshirted since we return all of the WRs from last year with only one being a senior (Mike Wallace). H.R. Greer will probably be redshirted to allow him to sit behind Jason Cook to learn and let Derrick Davis take up some FB slack. Then again, Coach Nutt might not redshirt any of them as he tries to figure out what he has.

We do plan on beating all of you over the head with the number of Harris' we have on the team as we have signed three in one year. We're putting names back on the jerseys for the first time since 2003 so I'm sure all the fans will get confused.

As long as y'all don't have a Dingle & a Berry like WVA had the past couple years, I think your fans will be OK.

With Leonard Johnson going to Iowa State, look for 4-star Hargrave DB Josh Pleasant to fill in his spot on the board at 10:45 when the Hargrave faxes go out. This will be accompanied by 4-star WR Andrew Harris and 5-star RB Enrique Davis.

The pick up of Davis is huge for you guys. Congrats Rebs!

We're still waiting on our other two top RBs in Army All-Americans Devin Thomas and Darius Barksdale to find a fax machine.

Justin Smith, a DL from Georgia, just signed. Hopefully Coach Rocker can keep the Georgia kids coming.

One Army All-American down as Devin Thomas just signed. Now waiting on Tig to get to the library to sign.

Looks like Josh Pleasant is going to honor his commitment to Kent State which is unfortunate. Julian Whitehead signed his LOI earlier however but he's already enrolled at Ole Miss so this is relatively moot.

LOIs have come in for RB Enrique Davis and QB Nathan Stanley.

Cianne
02-06-2008, 12:11 PM
I have to admit. It would be pretty cool to have the only Native American starting QB in the nation in Stanley (after Snead graduates/leaves/etc) since Sam Bradford should be gone by then.

Also, longtime commitment Dominique Davenport from Baldwyn, MS has decided to sign with Delta State presumably instead of taking a greyshirt.

Man, I don't want to see Davis in the backfield with either Snead or Mackey under center. Did you guys recruit Mackey as a QB?

Cianne
02-06-2008, 12:17 PM
Mackey is a sign and place I believe though I hope he does get in since he ran roughshod through Louisiana for three straight years. They could use him as a Percy Harvin I'd imagine with his abilities.

In other news, the LB corps got shored up with the #1 OLB from the junior college ranks, Patrick Trahan, sending in his LOI.

Man, how is the atmosphere up there in Oxford? Yall are reeling in a helluva class...

I could tell ya if I wasn't suck in Ethics and Evidence all morning. I much rather would have been at the Signing Party.

QB Chris Wilkes out of Dr. Phillips in Orlando has signed giving us both QBs we targeted.

Cianne
02-06-2008, 01:06 PM
btw Shanksta, if you get back to this, I assume you believe that Mackey is infinitely better than the 2-star ranking given to him by the services, yes?

Cianne
02-06-2008, 01:28 PM
Andre Sterling, a RB out of Knoxville and the 5A Player of the Year for his region just sent in his LOI to the Ole Miss coaching staff. Kid ran for 2,700 yards and 29 TDs right in the shadow of Neyland and the services don't get an evaluation on him. Also a potential sign and place.

Andrew Harris finally found his way to the fax machine giving the Rebels a 4-star 6'4" WR to go along with Melvin Harris' 6'7" frame.

Think he was recruited as an ATH, because of his 4.4 speed. I haven't seen his video yet, I know he did play QB but don't know how good he was?

Cianne
02-06-2008, 01:41 PM
Also, Derrick Herman's LOI came in. The CB from Cleveland was the other half of the CB duo that shut down Julio Jones and the Alabama offense in the MS-AL game.

This signing class is looking pretty darn good. My only question is are we gonna get the Barksdales or is southern miss gonna snag em right out from under us?

Bud should sign his papers between 3:00 and 3:30. Tig is worried about his grades and doesn't want to sign until he figures them out. He really doesn't want to go to Hargrave.

I hope Tig's grades are good enough

Matt Hall has yet to sign with either Arkansas or Ole Miss. He has no idea where he wants to go right now.

bad to southern. I was afraid of that. I imagine Tig will follow whether this year or next.

Hattiesburg is too far away for Tig.

Oh and there was one last LOI sent in late Wednesday afternoon from S Rudy Wilson from Hargrave.

Looks like you guys have a really good class considering the record last year. Plus, a coaching change always throws a wrench into the works... at least at first. But, you still managed a Top 25 class, a 5* player, and several 4* ones. Not bad at all; and Nutt should have something to work with right away.

Well I'll say this much for Matt Hall/ His parents wanted him to go to Ole Miss, real bad. It sorta got nasty between he and the folks. But in the end Matt made the final choice. The last visit to Fayetteville I think seal the deal for the hogs. Austin Eoff from Ft. Smith has got to know Matt from all the visits and he said in a radio interview yesterday that Matt was at a real crossroads with the decision he made. But according to Eoff, Matt is excited about being a Razorback. Hall was a huge sign for Arkansas.
