VanGorder is no better than Petrino. I definitely looked at him coming to Carolina with garnet colored glasses on. Now, it's easy to see that he's scum. How could you do something like this?

If this is true . . which it seems it is . . we can all consider VanGorder lying scum. He expressed how committed he was to the gamecocks, and how he was never going to look back at the NFL. What happened to him wanting to finish his career at the college level?
What a back-stabbing SOB. I wish I could hurt him.

Oh well, he is a good defensive coach but he has had these same problems at every single team he's been on. He's always looking at the greener grass and yet never makes it all the way to it.
HELL YES!!!! Hurray for BVG!!! I knew he couldn't possibly have his heart in USC
Sorry cock fans... but I've been crying ever since I heard the news he was going to Columbia.

I guess a month of visor boy was all he could take, tee hee.
No, seriously I thought a clash of those two personalities was just a matter of time. It is probably better for him to leave sooner rather than later.

what a POS he is! but Sean I bet you are glad you changed your sig before this happened haha!
Hey at least he didn't pull a Petrino and wait till halfway through the season to quit on you guys.... :D
Serious question for the cock fans.... how mad can you possibly be? I mean, how long was he with the team, a few weeks? Probably not enough time to get settled in or start anything meaningful...

There is no reason for Cocks fans to be mad. He didn't quit, he was fired.

You have to be kidding. They just ran an article on him in the ajc a few weeks ago and he said that all his stops made him realize that he was a college guy and was 100% committed to staying in college football. Even said he'd never give the NFL a second thought.

Would you want to work for Petrino after what he's done to his assistants in the past?

Dang, BVG out and Ellis Johnson in. Hmmmmm......
SC came out the better after all is said and done. Johnson will bring a couple of those North Mississippi All-Stars annually to boot. All of the resident SC fans may now let out a big sigh of relief.

But what about the Arkansas fans that are stuck with a punk for a Head Coach and no DC?

True that, no intention was it of mine to sling any pooh towards the Arkies btw.
With the way the coaching moves have been this season, who knows but I'm sure that there is a guy out there who'll jump at a shot to be a SEC DC.

Less that two weeks before signing day. I think that's what most are upset about, rather than the time elapsed while on the job.

Yeah, coach fired him so he could double his salary in Atlanta. It's okay, we now have a DC that wants to be here in Johnson.
