We have only not had them on the schedule for the last two years. They are back next year. Not really sure how that rotation works.

Congrats on playing LSU, we do it every single year.
its more then just them...we also have auburn, who we play every year and bama....that gives us the whole east plus the the best in the west. not to mention two OOC bowl teams.
that being said i think our biggest weakness is our WRs. we will not contend for a NC if we dont have a couple guys step up and become big play guys

Same here. I hate it......ruined our 2005 season.
Biggest weakness: John Parker Wilson

Who's replacing our kicker?? That could be a problem.
Congrats on playing LSU, we do it every single year.
Color me unafraid. Its not like LSU has dominated us lately. Auburn is the team in the West that we have the most to fear from.
BTW: Not scared of "death valley" at night either. Most teams aren't very successful there at night, but then again, most teams don't have Coach Richt's road record either.
Georgia's weakness next season: Having the bye week too early in the season. I'm really concerned that our bye is the week before Tennessee, then its an all out gauntlet from there on out.

An incoming true freshman named Blair Walsh...he's supposed to be incredible, but we'll see how it translates...

Wait . . so the 3 teams LSU is playing in the east next year are South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida? That right there is tough.

South Carolina's are the Offensive line and quarterback.

I would have to say we are weakest at QB until I see Crompton really do what I think he is capable of.

Depth at a few weak positions would be the main one..

I think every team in the SEC can claim schedule as a weakness. We lose California and Arkansas and pick up UCLA and Auburn, so it does not get any easier for any team. Our #1 weakness is the unknown of a new QB and if that turns out to be a strength then our lack of pass rush from the defensive line would be the weak link.
Pass D and QB play
hopefully Alabama won't be as inconsistent as they were this year

I would have to say our uncertainty for quality play at QB position. If that's not our first concern, then someone stepping up at the WR position is the next one.
Our Defense without a dought.
and we play Auburn every single year - seems they manage to give a few other programs (who shall remain nameless) problems when they rotate onto schedules...

A couple of things that have been mentioned - we lose some experience receivers, and that may be problematic unless some of our sophomores (Massaquoi, etc) put their hand up a little higher.
Our schedule is going to be rough, especially with Tennessee, LSU and Florida in the space of four weeks. We're going to need to be pretty bloody good to get through that unscathed.

A mixture of youth and a chaotic changing of the guard. Makes me worry it could take a season to get settled into a groove again. Like a losing season. eek.

I'm not expecting a true losing season, but our biggest weekness IMO, is our secondary. Most of the chaos on the Offensive side of the ball should be able to be worked out in the 3 OOC games early (even though Texas is in there).
Also, as Tennessee Ted mentioned, SOS is pretty much an issue for the entire conference this year. It's not just a Georgia thing. It's definitely a tough schedule for us. Luckily we get a bye week between 'Bama and Florida.

At this early stage you could argue the LBs, or replacing the WRs we lost or even the defensive line again. Those are weaknesses until proven otherwise, however the big weakness is: John Parker Wilson aliases of Sarah Jessica; or Johnny Walker Red.

For MSU it will be our Defensive Ends. We lost both DE's last year, and we'll need someone to step up and put pressure on the oppossing QB's as much as Titus Brown and Avery Hannibal did. Other than that position though I'm pretty happy with the way the rest of the team is shaping out, recruiting and returning players wise.

I won't say weaknesses but instead the two biggest questions marks at this point are center and kicker. I have confidence in our depth and talent level at receiver. Some of the young ones came on late in the season (Durham) and there were studs redshirts plus some studs in this recruiting class.

Georgia's weakness next season: Having the bye week too early in the season. I'm really concerned that our bye is the week before Tennessee, then its an all out gauntlet from there on out.
Wrongo! After the opening games of the Dawgs' 2008 schedule, the bye week before UT is precisely what the Dr. ordered. Last year the Vols had the week off and came out with blood in their eyes and whipped the snot outta us, this coming on the heels of a vicious beating at the hands of UF.
Though this does create a seven game stretch w/o one, the next bye comes before the season ending meeting with the new Paul Johnson led nats, which I think is also a good thing. Coming off the AU game facing their version of the Spread after seeing UF's should make dealing with yechs much easier.
Team weaknesses? Unproven place kicker would be #1 though I'm confident that if the FLL recruit doesn't pan out that Butler can step in. #2 would be youth at several starting spots, namly WR, RB, and S.

Call me crazy but I much rather would have taken a bye somewhere in between that 4 week stretch of AT LSU, AT Florida, AT Kentucky and AT Auburn. We take LSU and Florida back to back, which is just brutal. I'm not saying the bye won't help out before UT, but I think it would have been better to take it between LSU and Florida.

I would rather have it for the UF or LSU game if I was a dog...because imo the UF/LSU game will be a harder game than the Tenn game...jmho

i think we have a good shot at nabbing Jerrel Harris
the only LB's we have on the roster worth a damn are Prince Hall, Rolodo McClain, Ezekiel Knight..........of course Jimmy Johns now but he's a mystery at that position, and not letting Fanney put a knuckle down anymore but his lateral speed and covering in pass protection are a question..............all of this coupled w/the fact that we only have two LB's committed right now in this class: don'ta Hightower and Courtney Upshaw
he's gotta see that we played Hall and McClain right out of the gates and that in addition to him not having much competition
so to stay w/the thread, LB is definitely our weak spot

Meanwhile, we're still waiting to see you post about a weakness on your TEAM, D***weed to-the-third-power, besides talking about the bye week. So you're saying that UGA has no weaknesses - personnel wise - in your mind? Who's the homer??
Kevhugh is one of the more negative/pessimistic-minded posters about USC on this board, so it sounds like you may want to spend less time munching on those Stafford scooby-snacks, and put more effort in posting at least ONE knowledgeable post out of the 50 per day you spit out....

We have about 5 guys that have a possibility of playing LB for us, maybe 6. And a couple that RS this year. Saban is known for going for versatile players that can play multiple positions well, and known for switching players positions successfully. I don't think LB is a problem, as we'll really only be looking to fill one spot.
While we have a good chance at having a great DB group, Im still not sure how quickly we can have a successful 2nd corner, or how quickly and successfully the safety position will be filled.
I don't know where our "weakness" will be, but our biggest question mark I think is in the secondary next year.
And for those saying JP is the biggest weakness, IDK. I think if the OLine play is better (and the talent is there) our running game will be better and JP will be better. So Im guessing offensively the biggest question mark is will our O line finally play the dominant style that they've been predicted to do since 05?

Schedule is definately a huge one for USC. Check this 7 game stretch out:
At Mississippi
At Kentucky
vs LSU
off week
vs Tennessee
vs Arkansas
at Florida
off week
at Clemson
The first half of the schedule isn't much easiwer either. besides Wofford and UAB, carolina's got a damn tough schedule.
vs. NC State
at Vanderbilt
vs. Georgia
vs. Wofford
vs. UAB
That's a damn hard schedule and a decent OOC schedule. NC State is on the rise. However, somehow we got bye weeks at perfect times, IMO, and our first 2 games are thursday games (I think), which gives the team more time to prepare for Georgia.
USC was hurting for a bye week halfway through the season . . IMO, that played a part in the downward spiral of the season . . .

Quarterback and dee line for the Vols. I'm actually more concerned about the line. We have Wes Brown and Robert Ayers at end and Dan Williams and DeMonte Bolden at tackle. There isn't much in terms of experience behind them and we aren't exactly stockpiling 5 star recruits to fill the void. I am anxious to see what Ben Martin can do at end. That guy is supposed to be a hell of a player.

I agree with nellanaesp and lacene.......our questionable offensive line and the uncertainty on who will be quarterbacking our team (and how well Smelley or Garcia will do) are the two biggest weaknesses going into the season.

The schedule is not our biggest weakness. The schedule is our biggest challenge. There is a difference. Our weakness as of now is still; just be being able to pull in Stafford's passes.
