I thought it would be interesting to see how other's around the SEC feels about next year Cinderella's As you know, Kansas and Missouri finished in the top 10 this past season. Two teams the nations not used seeing that high.

So here's my question.

Do you think they will be a team that didn't finish in this years top 25 but will finish in the top 15 in 2008-09?
We will use the AP poll as reference.

2007-08 final results. (AP Poll)

1. LSU (60) 12-2
2. Georgia (3) 11-2
3. USC (1) 11-2
4. Missouri 12-2
5. Ohio State 11-2
6. West Virginia 11-2 1
7. Kansas (1) 12-1
8. Oklahoma 11-3
9. Virginia Tech 11-3 1
10. Texas 10-3
10. Boston College 11-3
12. Tennessee 10-4
13. Florida 9-4
14. Brigham Young 11-2
15. Auburn 9-4
16. Arizona State 10-3
17. Cincinnati 10-3
18. Michigan 9-4
19. Hawaii 12-1
20. Illinois 9-4
21. Clemson 9-4
22. Texas Tech 9-4
23. Oregon 9-4
24. Wisconsin 9-4
25. Oregon State 9-4

IM going out of conference. There's something about this bunch that is a head scratcher. They are having a very good recruiting year, and getting oral commitments from some top athletes. So with that being said, My pick to be a come from nowhere team is...

Pittsburgh Panthers

So how about some of your thoughts. Gee, I wonder if anyone will say South Carolina or Alabama?

I'm gonna have to say South Florida. They looked good last year . . . until they played someone decent
But Oklahoma State was my second pick. Their coach is 40

I think Texas Tech is going to be up there next year. Also im going to go out on a limb and say we will make the top 25 next year.

I was thinking Oklahoma state also ''weird''! and maybe Fresno State.

I sure hope it's Bama, but for this thread I'll say Arizona. Four of their losses were by a touchdown or less, and they won 3 of their last 4 games. Senior qb Willie Tuitama will have a good year. They do lose some experience along the defensive front, but Mike Stoops is a great defensive coach.

My Pick is Tulsa..... they led the nation in offense last year and they are the best at doing more with talent. They are going to beat a lot of teams next season and turn some heads.

I am going to have to go with the Beatles.

ALL of our losses were by 7 or less. Just sayin.

But I am going with Texas A&M, they have talent and dropped a huge weight off of their shoulders by dumping that idiot of a Head Coach

So was carolina's in 06, with an exception to the Georgia game. Almost winning means a L. Period.

It means growth from former years, and it means you're competitive against good competition and headed in the right direction. That looked to be the case for Spurriers crew until they absolutely underachieved in the 2nd half. And I think you can attest to that.

I didn't say that actually being within one score of ALL our losses (no exceptions) means SEC title next year.

Probably a team that no one would anticipate. I actually would pick Arizona as one of them - I think they beat Oregon (noted, they were struggling) and came close to some other decent teams. Oklahoma State would also be one I'd pick, and maybe even Colorado (just a hunch there).

Fresno State is my pick.

Pitt is a pretty good bet. Not sure what they are losing depthwise, but that win against WVU, and the changes at the latter, will surely give them a little nudge on NSD.

Watch it end up being Nebraska... Hope they do something, at least. I'd like to see Pelini shine a little bit.

Outside the conference my pick is Clemson.

Inside the conference, 'Bama is the most likely to come bounce up to the top 15.

I wouldn't go with Pitt because I believe as of today they will be looking for a new DC.

I'm going to go with Kansas St.

Their big QB will be a junior this year and 4 out of the first five of their games will be at home.

2008 Kansas State Football Schedule
DATE OPPONENT LOCATION
Aug. 30 Louisiana-Lafayette Manhattan, Kan.
Sept. 6 Fresno State Manhattan, Kan.
Sept. 20 at Louisville Louisville, Ky.
Sept. 27 North Texas Manhattan, Kan.
Oct. 4 Texas Tech Manhattan, Kan.
Oct. 11 at Texas A&M College Station, Texas
Oct. 18 at Colorado Boulder, Colo.
Oct. 25 Oklahoma Manhattan, Kan.
Nov. 1 at Kansas Lawrence, Kan.
Nov. 8 at Missouri Columbia, Mo.

Maybe Illinois - the Zookster rules!
Maybe Alabama - if they get a good OC to replace junior.

I'm figuring a reloaded Notre Dame or Mizzouri. WV has been a top 10 contender for the last 4 years and I would vote for them if they hadn't had the coaching fiasco.

Jesus god. I didn't mean to make this to hard for some of you. Again. IM asking what team that DIDN"T finish in the top 25 this year that WILL finish in the top 15 NEXT year....is that too freaking hard to understand?
