STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State coach Sylvester Croom received a two-year contract extension Monday.
The extension pushes Croom's contract to four years, the longest allowable under state law, and runs through 2011. Financial terms were not released.
After nine wins in three seasons, Croom led the Bulldogs to an 8-5 record and a Liberty Bowl win over Central Florida. It was the first season Mississippi State had more than three wins since 2000 and Croom was selected Southeastern Conference's coach of the year following the turnaround.

I think this a geat job by LT to sign CC to a ext. With the talent he had this year and to win 8 games is well worth an ext.
How do you guys feel about this?

A contract extension is nice, but if MSU was really show Croom gratitude for achieving Mission Impossible, they would've given him a $1 million signing bonus.
Contracts are made to be broken. However, nothing talks like cash.

Yup, he done a great job in Starkville!
Congrats Croom. Job well done!
Very good job by all involved, it needed to be done. And I think this year bought him atlest 2 more years, even if they regress, but again I think they'd be successful with a bowl eligible season

I think he finally is getting things done the way he wants them done. I am delighted for him and want to see him continue to do well and get the appreciation he deserves.

Croom is a great coach, done some really great things with the program, and anything they throw his way is well-deserved. I'm just hoping they opened up their wallets a little bit, as well.

He has definitely done a great job at Mississippi State this season. I just wonder if they turn back to their 3 wins a season ways will everyone still be singing the praises of Sylvester Croom. Hopefully they won't and will keep making the SEC look ever better.

I agree with you on the raise also or signing bonus. But im not sure if they did give him a signing bonus or not. I really think state needs to open their wallet a litlle bit here too.

Yep, pretty much well deserved too. I would think it was pretty much a formality, but with that said he has to keep the momentum going and keep on building the program up. Should be some exciting times down there in Starkville though.
