I just saw a fantastic movie. Sean Penn's story about Christopher McCandless. A 23 year old troubled youth struggling to cope with a psychotic unloving mother and father. The movie is based on the book of the same name by the Into Thin Air writer John Krakauer.

Trying to run away from his parents and society Christopher McCandless journeys from Emory University to the West. Along the way he has some incredible adventures and meets some amazing characters. He basically finds America.

He kayaks the Colorado river into Mexico, he lives with a hippie couple, works on a wheat and corn plantation in North Dakota with Vince Vaughan. Everywhere he goes he befriends people and has amazing experiences. It seems though that he is always running away. Every time he becomes too close to someone he needs to move on.

His ultimate destination is the Alaskan wilderness. He wants to live off the wild for a couple of months. I highly recommend watching this great movie. It is a great story and it is augmented with incredible cinematography of the beautiful Alaskan wilderness, great music highlighted by new songs from Eddie Vedder, and incredible acting especially by the lead Emile Hirsche.

Tennessee Ted gives it a
