This was coming one way or the other. West Virginia just filed suit for breach before Rich Rodriguez could file seeking declaratory judgment.

Paul Finebaum was talking today about how when Gerry Dinardo left Vandy for LSU in '95, he was held to a buyout but didn't want to pay it, so Vandy took him to court. Eventually it was settled out of court and for less then the $100K or so that the buyout was but just goes to show that there is precedent for schools suing former coaches for this sort of thing.

I bet they settle and Michigan doesn't get screwed like they should....

The difference between the SEC and the Big 10.

Arkansas pays Nutt 3.5 million to leave instead of demanding it. Then go out and hire another coach for 2.85 million.
Michigan and Rodriguez get sued.... because they are cheap bastards.

i heard him talking about that. he predicted more and more coaches who leave with a buyout to take a "come and get it from me" approach because they know it will be reduced later.
