View Full Version : SEC Bowl that most intrigues you (other than your team's)

This one is a tough one for me because it looks like most of the SEC teams have opponents that will provide serious challenges. If I had to pick one besides my Auburn Tigers, I guess it would have to be Tennessee vs. Wisconsin. But then again Arkansas vs. Missouri or Bama vs. Colorado look to be really good games as well. Dang, I can't make up my mind so let's just see what everyone else thinks.

Obviously LSU-Ohio St is going to be the biggie, but that said, I can't remember a NT game that disinterested me so much. Go ahead and slap that asteric on whichever team wins it!!
The game I'm most looking forward to is the Sugar Bowl. I LOVE match-ups like this when one team has everything to gain and nothing to lose and it's the reverse for the other team. I think this could be alot like last year's Fiesta Bowl (OU-Boise State). I think Hawaii comes to play and this game will be a shoot-out!!

I went with Georgia and Hawaii, I'm more interested in that one then most. Of course it's followed closely by LSU and Ohio St.

I was actually thinking that LSU & Georgia had two of the worst match-ups. I think both defenses should be able to handle their respective opponents in check. But then again after the year we just witnessed anything is possible. Troy gave Georgia everything they could handle and their offensive style is pretty similar to Hawaii's. Ohio State is looking to avenge their humiliation in last year's MNC game and LSU has been living on the edge for several games now. Thanks, now I'm more uncertain of the best match up but at the same time I'm that much more pumped for the games to get here. :hyper:

That's very true, but I'm only attracted to those two games because of the implications of them both.

I think the Georgia vs. Hawaii game has the biggest buzz around it definitely. I really want to watch Florida vs. Michigan because I hate the Meeechigan fanboy love from ESPN.

I want to see Florida vs. Michigan just for a good laugh. This might be the most lopsided bowl game this year.

I picked Mizzou/Arky narrowly over the BCS championship for no other reason than to be different. It is obvious that the championship game is the marque game, but in order to be unique I picked Mizzou/Arky because it has McFadden/Jones vs. Daniel. You have a #1 team that lost two games and got shut out of the BCS despite blitzing Kansas the week before, so there are some interesting side lights to this game.

Other than the NCG, I'm really looking forward to seeing the Sugar Bowl with Georgia and Hawaii. I'm just curious to see how long Hawaii will stay in this game. I know that Georgia should kill the Rainbows and have their second and third stringers in there by the third quarter, but like somone has already stated, this is a crazy year and the unlikely seems to be happening more than the likely. I believe Georgia's defense will determine the outcome of this game and their ability to shut down their pretty boy QB and receivers. If the Bulldawgs can't, then their offense better be ready to score 45 and 55 points. If Georgia was able to lay 45 on Auburn, I don't think they will have any problem putting up 55 on the Island dwellers.
My pick: Georgia 47 Hawaii 17:thumpsup:

The other game that I'm looking forward to watching is the Auburn and Clemson clash. I've always loved the Peach Bowl atmosphere; and I believe that the electricity in the Georgia Dome will be unbelievable between these two teams. Auburn's defense should absolutely frustrate the other Tigers from Clemson all night long. I don't think Clemson will get a first down until late in the second quarter. I almost feel sorry for Tommy Bowden. But the question mark will be: will Cox, Tate and the Auburn offense show up. I mean, ULMonroe scored 26 points on Clemson, so if the War Eagles can get rolling on offense early on with a balanced attack, this could be a long game for Clemson. And it should be.
My pick: Auburn 35 Clemson 24:thumpsup:

i wanna see Mizzou vs. R-Kansas. the Tigers are still mad that they got screwed by the BCS, but the Hogs should be on a new high from Petrino coming in and Felix staying. i think Mizzou might get crushed.

I would say the "Arkansas Got Us Pay Raises Bowl" Clemson vs. Auburn

I picked the Florida/Michigan games for a couple of reasons.
1st. Michigan is finally all healthy
2nd. Michigan has nothing to lose
3rd. Tebow won the Heisman
4th. Michigan already faced and shutdown a spread team this year (Zook)
I hope UF wins but this game could be a barnburner.....

I cant wait to watch AU vs Clemson. I think this game is going to be a real battle. AU has a solid run defense and Clemson has two great backs and a QB whos flown under the radar the entire season. I picked clemson to win in my little bowl challenge thing but i could see it going eaither way.

I work in Clemson territory, so I've heard more about this bowl than I've heard about our own...the Clemmers are obsessed with the Barners. From a surface level, that matchup intrigues me just because of the names...but considering all the staffing changes and almost changes...and the one-on-one matchups, it should be a great game to watch.

I went with the default choice of the NC game. Frankly I am not super-interested in any of the other bowl games. I'll watch them if I get a chance but there are really only two big games of interest to me.
Other than ours, I voted Florida-Michigan. I really think some fans are writing Michigan off, and they shouldn't. Michigan has everyone healthy, and regardless of their early season struggles... they are still a good team. This one will be closer than everyone thinks.
