Sure it should be allowed. I would love to see every collegiate athelete stay four years, but if they want to leave early they should be able to. Could you imagine if there was that rule and McFadden had to stay another year and he got hurt next year. It would be awesome to see him in an Arky uniform next year, but the guy has done everything in three years to show he is an NFL player and probably a #1 draft pick, so it would be unfair to make him stay another year and risk injury.

I say yes because other sports they don't eve make you go to college at all, but football you wouldn't survive in pro's without growing up but ya let them leave.

Of course I think they should orally tell everyone they are going pro. No reason to keep it secret.:lol:
Oh you were asking if it should be allowed? Yes I do and I think there is a good system in place for football and baseball. I wish college basketball would go a step further then what they did.

It is something that each athlete good enough to play for cash, has to face at some point. Of course it has to be up to them and not dictated to them.

Nah, but if would have been nice to have Jamal Anderson this year. And Felix and DMAC back again next year.

Yeah, it should be allowed; particularly in football, where the risk of injury is much greater than the other sports. Injuries can stop a career before it starts. But, I also wish those athletes would finish getting their degrees after they leave, like Emmitt did. One of the things I like about the new AAFL is that only former players with degrees qualify to play. All American Football League (http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com/) Basketball is a different situation entirely. There's almost no chance of sustaining a career-ending injury. Those guys should at least be required to stay 3 years. That way, if their stay in the pros is cut short by injury or just not being good enough, they only have 1 year of school left to get their degree, and have an opportunity for a second career.
I think no. Yes there is a risk of injury but there is even more in the NFL where they hit harder. They should have a 4 year degree before they go...just in case. Just my opinion

Yeah, but at least if they get hurt in the NFL, they have the money from their original contract, the money they'll be paid from getting hurt in the NFL, and insurance to cover their medical costs. They can get their degree while they're no longer playing. If they get hurt before they make the NFL, they don't get any of that. Some of them come from families that really need the money, too. And, frankly, some of these kids would make more with a signing bonus and a first contract, than they would ever make in a lifetime of working a regular job. Plus, like I said, they can still get the degree and have the NFL money, too.

If you are old enough to die for you country you should have the right to do a lot of things like drink and choose to go pro.

Yes, they should be allowed. Some of these guys come from rough backgrounds. They don't all want to go for selfish reasons, some want to give their mothers what they deserve, a nice house and a pimp ride :)
It's different when everyone KNOWS a player is NFL-ready. Some go early and really screw up.
