Y'all have never been there if "there" means without a coach. Yea, Bama has had it's share of coaching controversies since Stallings left but people line up for a chance at coaching at Bama.

It is a hard thing to find the right person for your program. We know how frustrating it is, but you will find the coach you need and then things will settle down and you can start making plans for the future. It will be a bright one.

Huh? We got turned down by Riley and Leavitt when we hired Price and were without a coach for a while, not to mention that we were also without a coach for a week in may after Price was dismissed and before Shula was hired. Last year, we were without a coach from mid november to jan. 3 when we hired saban.

This is a blessing. Grobe wasn't what Arkansas needs. Besides, winning in the ACC is a lot like making an A in remedial math.

Where the heck do they go now? Surely they are not dumb enough to hire Gus considering he is 2 years removed from High School. I also wouldn't be too excited about English.

There are a lot of good assistants out there with better reputations then those 2. I hope Arky gets someone good. It makes the SEC better.

Think about it, can anyone currently site to one coach that is a huge week link. I mean we can comment that Miles isn't that great or CTT always loses a game he shouldn't or Saban lost to ULM or Fulmer has been inconsistent as of late. That is fine, but we no longer have some idiots in the league like we used to with Coach O, Shula, Dinardo, or Woodenhoffer. What a great league of coaches and I hope Arky adds onto that.

^Amen to that!^

Lookout for the SEC in the next 2-3 years. As good as the conference has been, the future looks brighter now.

Here's hoping Arky lands a good one. As posted above, there are several assistants around the country that would be good to pick from: Norm Chow, Will Muschamp, Mickey Andrews. Looks at Bo Pelini and Jimbo Fisher...:excl:

Riley wanted the job but his west coast ritzy wife couldn't see herself moving to Alabama. Leavitt also wanted the job but turned it down after Bama turned him down because of the skeletons in his closet.

ROn English or Charlie Strong. I would hire one of them. Politically it's a good move and coaching wise they will make great HC in my opinion.

Man, you know nothing about college football. Yeah, it is the ACC, BUT it is Wake Forest, former equivalent of Vandy. And he was only National Coach of the Year in '06. Arkansas isn't going to find anyone better than Grobe.

VU #1........ step away from the computer. Jim Grobe is overated. Now Coach Johnson is a different story. He's maybe one of my favorite coaches in the SEC. It's easier to turn around a team in the SEC. Academically the ACC has a ton of Vandyesque teams. Also F$U isn't where they once were and neither is Miami.

I'd be happy with Muschamp, no doubt about it. Time will tell as always but I am just hoping that Long and company figure this crap out. Personally I was ok with the Grobe hiring, or what we thought was the Grobe hiring. Who is next....sorry nevermind, it has been a long day and I don't have the time nor mental energy to go through the long list of names being thrown around with most of them wanting to use it as leverage for a pay raise at their current school.

If Arkansas went with a coord. I'd be fine with Muschamp. I'm surprised I haven't heard his name more with other vacancies though.

I just get a bad vibe from Grobe. Like it's a fluke. I could prove to be wrong in being happy he turned us down.
