Team A is in a weaker conference. BUT, Team B's worst loss was to an 81st ranked team while Team A's worst loss was #72 who went to a bowl over team A. The Average ranking of Team A's losses was 29th. Team A 8-4. Their best win was a 44th ranked team.

Team B who is 6-6 who's average rank for their losses is 32nd. Team B's best win was against a 19th ranked team.

Team A is Troy and Team B is Alabama. Do any of you think Troy was screwed by not getting an at large bowl bid?

I'm not sure what your point is since Bama is going to a Bowl that is slotted for an SEC team. Therefore, comparing Bama to Troy is irrelevant. If you want to compare Troy to a team that got an at-large bowl invite, then that makes more sense IMO.

My point is comparing a team we know doesn't belong in a bowl with a VERY deserving Sun Belt team. The Sun Belt deserves 2 tie ins.

All they had to do was beat Florida Atlantic. They couldn't do it...so thats the end of it really. I wish they could of got a bowl game anyway, but I think Troy will be in a bigger conference in due time anyway.

I don't believe that we should have one of our Bowl tie-ins eliminated to give the Sun Belt another Bowl tie in (e.g., the Independence Bowl). It just happened that this year the SEC got two teams into the BCS (which is not guaranteed). That opened the door for Bama to get into an SEC affiliated Bowl. If we hadn't gotten two SEC teams into BCS Bowls, then Alabama would not have gotten into an SEC-affiliated Bowl (and probably would not have gone to any Bowl).

I'm not saying that Troy didn't deserve a Bowl bid.....just not at the expense of one of our SEC Bowls. And not every year do two Sun Belt teams deserve Bowl bids IMO.

Well you should since we had 17 games with their conference this year. How does it look when the majority of OOC games are against a conference that only gets one team in a bowl...... SO YES. We should care. It kills our SOS.
