any news if Freeze will be retained? IMO the improvement of the receivers reflects his coaching ability and the public statements by the recruits of him..

Ole Miss assistant football coaches John Thompson and Hugh Freeze will not be retained by new coach Houston Nutt.

"As of now I'm not on the staff," Freeze said Monday afternoon.

"We had a really good discussion," Thompson said." "He told me he thought he had his full staff."

Thompson said he is uncertain about his future plans at this moment.

ULM defensive coordinator Kim Dameron and secondary coach Ron Dickerson have accepted positions on Nutt's Ole Miss staff......I think Houston Nutt hired these guys to give Ole Miss that "ULM" advantage against Bama next year :rofl:

He knew Dameron the defensive coordinator at L-M, because they were both graduate assistants at Arkansas in 1983, and were together again at Murray State. I don't know about the other L-M coach, Ron Dickerson. Possibly a recommendation by Dameron, I don't know.
