They hate the Longhorns because they used to be bitter rivals in the same conference.

It goes back to the old SWC days. I know I was raised to have a strong dislike for Texas. A younger generation is not old enough to appreciate the rivalry that once was and still somewhat is. For me, I know I still very much dislike the Longhorns.

Yeah, I know by the time I was 11 years old, the Southwestern Conference went away. Kinda sucks too, if not for the rampant cheating that all the teams in the Conference were notorious for committing, the SWC would probably still be existent today.
