The national championship this year will have two over rated teams no matter who comes through this final week...
either mizzou vrs west virginia or osu vrs west virginia
*wvu could lose but chances are slim and none...
If I could pick the top 2 to play in the game I would say...UGA and LSU would be the two best teams this year but thats not going to happen so this years game will blow and I might watch the 1st quarter haha

I think three SEC teams (UGA, Florida, and LSU) could beat the top three teams right now. Tennessee might even be able to beat those teams.
It would be fitting if an over rated company sponsored the bowl. I could just see it. The Enron Over Rated Bowl.

I'd be interested to watch it just because it's two schools who rarely make it to such lofty levels. Of course, only through curiosity - couldn't give a rats' hairy teste who wins.
UGA/USC would be a great game, though I'd sort of be surprised to see us make a Rose Bowl. I suppose nothing is guaranteed yet.

Yea, that will be a pretty sweet game to watch. I think this would be the first USC match up vs. a top SEC team in a bowl.

This may be a good thing... it serves to remind everyone how bad the BCS is. Maybe it will help move us to a playoff system.

Looks good to me, but the only thing I don't like is he assumes LSU is going to win the SEC. :brick:

Hooray for another dumb thread! It doesn't matter whom plays for the NC game. Any team that gets there did it because they deserved it by either going undefeated or having the fewest amount of losses. Gripe and b*tch all you want but the fact is, your team had a chance to be in the same position. Yes, I agree that both LSU and Florida are better this year than WVU, Mizzou, and tOSU. I really don't know why everyone is estatic over Georgia? The games that I have watched, they look average and no better than a lot of the other teams in the Top 25 and they certainly don't appear to have the elite speed that LSU and Florida has. You can't assume a team is overrated unless you have either played them and beat them, or the team got totally embarrassed by another team after being ranked high. Florida fans along with Georgia fans are always the first ones this year to say that tOSU is over rated. Yes, we have played a crappy schedule this year, but no one gives us any credit for usually playing a tough OOC schedule in any other year. I don't see any top teams going out and scheduling So Cal, Texas, Oklahoma, Miami FL, or Virginia Tech. Guess who did? Thats right, tOSU did! You all assume since we got a severe beatdown last year that it is automatically going to happen again this year and so on. Thats just juvenile and plain ignorant. That would be like me saying that Florida is overrated and going to get blown out because they got manhandled by Nebraska in 1995. This year is seperate from last year and you can't judge a team on what happened in the past. Things change and players get better. Time will tell what will happen, but I wonder if any of you naysayers will be here if "overrated" teams look very impressive and pull of big wins in the bowls.

I think some fans just don't like the fact that the Pac-10 and Big-11 don't have to play in a championship game. A much easier road. That, and nobody wants to see aa OSU-WVU matchup for the NC.

I agree with the sentiment that none of those match-ups exactly excite you, but how in the world would those teams be considered "over-rated"??
Furthermore, why would ANYONE outside the South give a rats a$$ about an LSU-Georgia match-up?? What would you call that?? The Over-Hyped and Under-Achieving Bowl?? Give me a break!!
This is just another ignorant opinion from someone whose football knowledge obviously doesn't extend pass their backyard!!

I will be the first to say, that although Florida may be capable of beating every team in the Top 10 and we may be one of the most talented teams, we don't deserve to play in the National Championship Game strictly based upon our W-L record. We didn't get the job done. This year the argument can be made that no one really did and so no one is really deserving to go. Still doesn't mean that LSU, Georgia or Florida should go just because they are more talented. We haven't earned it, and despite the fact that they play in weaker conferences, the teams in front of us are more "deserving" than we are.

I think that LSU and Georgia are two very good teams and on any day could beat anyone including West Virginia, Ohio St., and Mizzou. Therefore, I think this opinion is an opinion and not an ignorant one.

WVU and Mizzou (and even Ohio State) have earned the right to be there, because that's the way the system is set up. Voters have those teams rated high because they believe them to be good. Georgia is getting the same benefit and no one complains about it (or ARE you?).
Personally, I'm excited about watching WV vs Mizzou, if only because it will be different teams.
Now, if Missouri loses and Ohio State gets butt-raped in the MNC game AGAIN, then I will be the first one in line saying that they are not fit for BCS bowl games. But I agree with Killernut that it's wrong to assume that Ohio State is not worthy of their ranking THIS year just because of what happened LAST year. Ask Auburn circa 2003-2004 if that's important.

actully alot of people take me seriously haha even you have b4...IMO it just doesnt even seem like anyone this yr. should be a national champion...but seriously the 3 teams havnt played alot of great talent and I think are at least slightly over rated

God I hate to say this, but...
Go Sooners! Beat Mizzou!
I'd love to be in the Rose Bowl - Richt has even stated publically that he wants the Rose since it is the only BCS Bowl he has never been to.

I'd agree with that. I'll be the first to say that our schedule sucks. I know and so does the rest of the Buckeye Nation. What I was saying earlier, everyone bashes us this year over a cheesy schedule but doesn't give us credit when we have really strong OOC schedules.

Wow, I read that link and man, that playoff system would be awesome. Look at the matchups it would bring this year:
Central Michigan - Missouri
Oklahoma - USC
Hawaii - Kansas
Brigham Young - Georgia
Troy - West Virginia
Boston College - LSU
Florida - Virginia Tech
Central Florida - Ohio State
So eventually, we could likely be seeing matchups like LSU-WVU, UF-OSU, hell any of those second round matchups would be killer. I would personally like to see UGA and OSU or WVU play for the NC. And think of the betting possibilities. I really hope a playoff comes to NCAA football. Also, the NFL draft would change alot because the endurance of the college players would be tested more.

Yeah, we would STOMP West Virginia if we ever played them! No way Pat White would run all over us................wait............nevermind....... .:brick:

If we do make it into the NC game, I don't see why everyone thinks West Virginia would run rampid over us. While they might have a spread offense, they do not pass much but instead run 80% of the time. You can't run againist the better Big 10 teams because frankly, thats our forte, or specialty if you will. Pat White would have to beat us with his arm and I really don't think that West Virginia with their 2 and 3 star talent, could play an entire 60 minutes with a physical team that is loaded with talent. Like I said before, I would be willing to bet that Slaton and White have no more than 100 yards rushing combined if they play us. And also, do you really think that this tOSU team is going to lose after what happened to us last year at the hands of Florida. This team has a chip on its shoulder and I don't care if it is West Virgnia, Missouri, or So Cal because the Buckeyes are going to give their all and kill whomever stands in the way especially after last year.

I will be the first to congratulate you if you beat USC next year. This year however I do not think the rest of the nation will take you very seriously even if you win the national championship over WVU. However, that is the fault of the system and not the players or fans of OSU, so I will still congratulate you on a great season if you win (or even if you don't win.) That is why I like the Wetzel plan because if you won in that plan no one would second guess you.
I think if you played WVU it would be a pick'em game or may be WVU would be a 3 point favorite. It would be a good game.

As a post script to my last post, I think the teams that really are to blame for OSU getting flack for having a weak schedule are Iowa, Penn St., and Wisconsin. They all really suck this year and usually they are perennial powers or at least good enough to create a challenge for OSU and Michigan. Minnesota too had a couple of good years until they fired Mason and now they really suck. I hope the Zooker keeps the recruits coming in to Champaign and continues to give Michigan and Illinois a challenge.

I am hoping that Oklahoma beats Mizzou so we can show the nation what we are all about vs. West Virginia  I don't want to play USC in the Rose bowl simply because we'll rematch them in the second week of next season.
