I know everyone thinks that Saban underachieved big time this year and he did but what do you think about next year and Bama's chances? How many wins do you guys think we will have with our tough games on the road. This is the schedule now, there have been talks about replacing UTEP for Clemson though.

UTEP is out, Clemson is in. The funny thing is, Mike Price is headed back to Wash. St. and he's the reason the game was agreed to be cancelled. Way too early to answer your question. A lot depends on what happens in the offseason. There is a major talent upgrade, but it's young. We'll be better next year, especially in the S&C side, but that's a lot of tough road games. I would say a lot depends on how Fanuzzi emerges. JPW pretty much sux.

7-5 is my guess
Not to be negative but some of the changes Saban brought to this years team seems to backfiring a little. I'm hearing about a lot of player unrest mostly from upperclassmen.

This might be for the best long run....

@UGA: Loss
UK: Toss-up, but I'll call it a W b/c of homefield
UTEP: Win
OM: Win
@UT: Loss
NI: Win
MSU: Revenge win
@LSU: L
Aub: L, until proven otherwise
8-4

This might be for the best long run....I'm not sure if I would call it "unrest" but there has definately been issues with players who were spoiled by Shula's managing the team like it was a NFL program. The players did as they pleased, half of them didn't even participate at all in the Strength and Conditioning program, if you could call it that. He did, however, implement a Yoga program for the players :sad: . Saban brought in Martial Arts as part of his program for flexibility and injury prevention. Some of the walk ons like Mustin, Johnson, and Saunders and other less glorified players like Sharreiff that you see starting this year are the ones who were frustrated by the lack of effort and discipline that was engrained during the Shula era.
I would say the "unrest" is by Saban and don't be surprised when you hear certain players who are not seniors either transferring or booted from the team in the coming weeks.

I say 8-4. We could beat any team on our schedule and hell maybe lose most. Most of this depends on how JPW progresses and if we get the same one we saw the last half of the year. If that is the case 6-6 is certainly possible again.

Next years Bama schedule looks easier than this years in my opinion. Granted they have some hard road games but their out of conference schedule is embarassing. If they dont go 8-4 then theres a huge problem.

no, Saban has two priorities before we can even think about winning on a consistent basis. 1) Recruit better talent 2) Change the attitude to the players who have been spoiled by the country club style program that Shula managed.
I think #1 is already happening and thats Saban's forte. You can count on certain players that relate to #2 either transferring or being shown the door, how will that affect the team? We will have to wait and see.

we're not playing UTEP, we replaced them with Clemson to be played at the Georgia Dome. After reading your last several posts you seem to be pissed or disappointed that Bama fans are not trying to crucify Saban and you are trying to give high expectations for next year just because you hate the guy. Worry about your own shortcomings with your team.

This might be for the best long run....Saban certainly knew that there were a number of problem players on the team, but he decided to give them a chance to buy into the program and get their act in gear. The players who bought in--guys like Gilberry and Mustain--showed what the system can do. Those who didn't and don't graduate will likely be given their walking papers. The result will effectively be a second transitional year, we'll play a fair number of freshmen next year, and yes, I'd say 7-8 wins is about right.
And yes, it will definitely be better for the team in the long run.

Thanks guys, I was just wondering what we could possibly be looking at. Ark and LSU will have pretty big drop offs and I think Ainge is a senior and I don't really know about there backup so thats a definite possibility. Auburn also loses there qb who wasn't very good anyway, but I don't see Kodi Burns being a great SEC qb anytime soon IMO.
thanks

Consider our 4 most productive Defensive players:
Rashad Johnson & Darrin Mustin, both walkons
Ezekiel Knight, 1st year on Defense, a converted WR
Wallace Gilberry, last signee of the class that nobody else wanted
Castille underperformed, IMO
Most impressive player, Rolando McClain, a true Freshman
Most impressive DB at years end, Kareem Jackson, true Freshman
Saban did a pretty good job with a ragtag group that everyone before the season said was gonna get run over.
The level of talent we redshirted last year and what we have coming in is light years better than most of what we have now.
It just all depends on how fast they come together.

Buddy dont hope for other teams to lose their QBs as your JPW is among the worst in the SEC anyway. Auburn actually can only get better without Cox! You better convince Saban to give all those QBs on your roster an opportunity to prove themselves instead of watching JPW keep ruining your upcoming seasons.

Auburn starters lost on offense:
Brandon Cox QB
Carl Stewart FB
Cole Bennett TE/Tommy Trott and Gabe Mckenzie will be juniors.
Defense:
Quentin Groves DE/ Was hurt a lot this season and you got to see Coleman. Coleman lead us in sacks.
Josh Thompson NG
Patrick Lee CB
Johnathan Whilhite CB /Jerraud Powers almost played more then he did.
Eric Brock Safety / Wasn't even the starter until Zac Etheridge got hurt
We find a QB and we will be tough to deal with.

You'll be tough to deal with anyway, I was just stating that if a qb doesn't step up then you may lose a game or two that you probably shouldn't. Bama is in the same position. Didn't mean to sound rude.

with an understood down team going through a coaching transition and no depth and losing 4 starters that included 2 starting OL and one starting RB for 4 games, we lost in OT to UGA, beat Arky, lost on the last play to LSU (who is losing their qb), beat Tennessee (who is losing their qb) and lost to AU (who is losing their qb) by 7 in a game that couldve gone either way

Mississippi State is no longer a team that you can just say "WIN" in the win/lose column. They are and will be good defensively, offensively, and on special teams. And, they have an excellent game-day coach. I think Miss State will continue to impress and rise in the SEC West. And, with the new coach (Nutt) at Ole Miss, the Rebel's football (mis)fortunes will likely rise, as well. The State of Mississippi seems to have a brighter future in SEC football than one would have thought earlier this season.

Further, I'd rather we stop counting on other teams losing players in order to win games. We develop some quality depth on the OL and DL, Jeramie Griffin pans out at FB (he is reported to be the second coming of LeRon McClain), Glen Coffee bulks up a bit to become a more bruising between the tackles kind of back, and we'll start winning some games regardless of who the other team loses to graduation.
In other words, the natural order of the universe will be restored. :whistle:

...and for getting cheap shots in the dog piles. JK but I'd bet Bama goes 7-5 with a few heartbreakers. Could easily be more like 9-3, but this is more likely year after next.
