When was the last time someone ran for 1700 yards in the SEC? Just wondering how rare it is.

Bo Jackson in 85 for us is the only one to go over 1700

Hershel did it twice, Jackson was the last to do it.

This fact alone should go a long way towards getting McFadden the trophy.

Why is that? First of all, there are more games in a season than there were when those guys got their totals. They only played 10 or 11 games. Take off DMac's totals for the last game (or last 2 games in some cases), and he has 1,519... good for about 8th or 9th place. You really have to look at Yards Per Game to get a better comparison; and DMac is getting 138, even with the 12th game of 206 added. Also, how many of the guys on that list won the Heisman? 2. And, just because DMac is the RB flavor of this period, doesn't mean he ranks up there with that top 2 or 3-man group that did win it. Out of sight, out of mind. He's a deserving guy for the trophy, but not because of that yardage total. He's not as great a RB as the 2 guys on that list who did win it.

Yea...and Tebow needs one rushing TD to break the record for TDs by a QB. He's currently tied at 22.

No, actually you would have to take off one of the non conference games where he didn't play much and run up alot of yards. Nobody is as good as Herschel was. I would rate him up there with Bo Jackson.
