Just wanted to see who everyone would like to face in their bowl matchups. Make your picks and explain why it is possible and why you want that matchup.

Here is mine:

Bowl: Capital One
Want to play: Michigan
How it's possible: Hawaii loses to Washington, likely sending Illinois to the Sugar Bowl and making Michigan the Big 10 team that will play in the Capital One Bowl.
Why I want it: I'd love the chance to play a traditional powerhouse program like Michigan and see how we matchup against the Big 10 this year.

I don't care who we play as long as it isn't Big 10. I, for one, am sick of playing them.

Not that this relates too much, but LSU is expected to play against Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl if LSU wins next weekend.

As an LSU fan, I'd like to play against USC though.

I wouldn't mind playing a PAC-10 team, but there's no one in the ACC I would really want to play. A Big 12 matchup would be interesting as well. I really don't want to play Illinois, nothing positive can come out of that matchup for us.

If Carolina makes it to a Bowl, I don't want them to play Houston again. They'd be looking for revenge and Carolina wouldn't handle that too well.

Right, so if Hawaii loses this week to Washington, they wouldn't go to a BCS Bowl and you guys would likely end up playing Illinois instead of Hawaii, leaving us with Michigan in all probability.

You'd matchup better with Illinois than Michigan. Florida would beat Michigan by at least 3 touchdowns.

Even though i don't want OSU to go to the NC i would like them to go because i want to see GA vs USC...Rose Bowl. I think this could help give GA even more Credibility going into next year if we win. But then again If GA was to win they would prob say so what you beat a team that couldn't beat Stanford....lol.

I like to see Auburn play Michigan in the Outback bowl or Kansas in the Cotton Bowl. I don't want to see an Auburn/Clemson game @ Chick fil a bowl.

Illinois is already locked into going to the Rose if Ohio State doesn't. Its the whole Big 10 vs. Pac 10 traditional matchup thing. I don't want to play So Cal in the Rose because we will be playing them in early September next year in OOC. Just another "cupcake" game on the tOSU schedule according to SEC fans.

I was thinking State would get picked up by the Music City bowl, but I think a more likely bowl would be the Liberty Bowl. Either one would be a lot of fun. I'm pretty sure the Cotton Bowl would love to see Arkansas.

any possible way we dont play a big 10 team?

Actually, it would become an at-large spot right? I mean technically they could pick Illinois, but they don't have to if Ohio State vacates the spot.

well.. if we win saturday, hawaii in the sugar would be nice. it could either be a blow out or would be like kentucky, 1000 yards combined passing.

if we lose, illinois would be a good opponent and would be a hell of a game at the capitol one.

Unsure? I have heard from other boards and by the way the other media writers are talking, is that the Rose Bowl is contractually obligated to take a Big 10 vs. Pac 10 team unless it is for a NC. The only way would be if there is not a team that is BCS bowl eligible.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure if a team vacates that bowl to go to the National Championship the spot becomes an at-large and that bowl gets first choice selection to replace the team going to the National Championship.

EHhhhh, wrong. Illinois probably won't qualify for a BCS berth, they are #15 and they must be #14 or better. That whole 18 team expansion only comes into play if enough teams don't qualify... which won't be a problem. So if Ohio State makes the title game, they can pick at large.

Oh and as far as what and who I want to play, I'd like to see Georgia vs. SoCal in the Rose Bowl, or Georgia vs. Kansas in the Fiesta Bowl.

Wow, still pissed? Get over it. Georgia vs. So Cal would be a good game but Georgia playing Kansas would get ugly. Kansas got exposed yesterday and you could only imagine what a good SEC team would do to them.

There is a part of me that doesnt even want to see Bama in a bowl game this year. We f'd our season up pretty badly a few weeks ago. But in the event we do go bowlin' I guess I'd like to see Alabama vs. Texas A&M in the Independence...I think thats the game with the Big 12...aint it? Bowl projections are not my specialty.

I am just as much of a Washington Husky fan as I am a Gamecock.. (I grew up on the West Coast)..

First of all.. U-Dub aint beating Hawaii.. forget about that.. :(

BUT.. Knowing alot about the Pac-10.. and the Rose Bowl in general... those Old Bastards on the Rose Bowl committee will do whatever it takes to have a Pac-10/Big 10 matchup.. If OU beats Mizzouri, you can bet the farm that USC vs Illinois will be your Rose Bowl matchup..

And then.. the following goes into place..

Sugar Bowl: LSU vs Hawaii
Fiesta Bowl: UGA vs Oklahoma

Capital One-- Michigan vs Florida
Outback-- Kentucky vs Wisconsin
Cotton-- Arkansas vs Texas
Chick-Fil-A-- Tennessee vs Clemson
Music City-- Auburn vs Florida State
Liberty-- Alabama vs UCF
Indy-- Miss State vs Colorado

The Liberty Bowl REALLY wants Bama to set up the 25th anniversary of Bears last game. But, The Liberty Bowl is a dump and we'd have to play a team like Tulsa. More likely destination for Bama is the Music City Bowl. If not that, I wouldn't mind playing TAMU or Colorado in the Indy Bowl.

Most likely Auburn will go to the Chick-fil-A bowl and play Clemson or maybe Boston College. I'd rather play Boston College in that scenario. The other possibility is the Outback bowl where we'd play either Michigan or Illinois. We have some bowl history with Michigan and match up well with them so I guess I'd rather play the Wolverines in that case. I doubt we'd go back to the Cotton Bowl again since we were there last year and Arkansas is available and is geographically a better fit for them.

The Independence Bowl does match up The Big XII & SEC. CBSSportsline.com has Bama projected to play Colorado there at this time.
