Move over Michigan-OSU!! Iron bowl.... Who cares?? Texas-Texas A&M...whatever!!

"THE GAME" is this week as Kansas takes on Missouri in Arrowhead Stadium. ok, ok...please note the sarcasm...

BUT, I am really looking forward to this game. Who would have thought that this game would be "the game" in the Big 12 this season. Of course I've never thought twice about this game, but one of the local radio shows had a long time Kansas City sports writer on yesterday morning talking about the rivalry and history between the two schools. There's as much hate between these 2 schools as there is between any and the history of this rivalry is really quite interesting. I won't bore you all with alot of the details but the series sits at 53-53-9. Kansas claims that it leads by 2 games (54-52-9). The dispute goes back to the 1960 season, when unranked KU came to Columbia and upset undefeated and #1-ranked Mizzou, 23-7. The win was later forfeited by KU after the NCAA ruled that ineligible players took the field for the Jayhawks. Kansas counts the result on the field in their record books, while MU sides with the NCAA and counts the forfeit in its win column. The win by the Jayhawks kept the Tigers from playing for and possibly winning a National Title. That game even today sparks alot of hatred between the two schools.

Anyway, should be one hell of a game. Say what you want about weak schedules and whatever typically biassed negativity about these two schools. A true fan of good college football and it's rivalries will be tuning in to watch this one over all others on Saturday. Reesing and Daniels are the real deal and it is nice that they'll finally get the coverage and exposure they deserve.

I guess I want Kansas to win (could help Tebow in the Heisman race)

But I do want Kansas to lose in the Championship game:thumpsup:

Go Jayhawks!!!
I hope they keep winning and get to the NC game AND then get their ass beat by LSU----I know some people say "It would be cool for them to win because its not normally a football program and its been since 1905 (or whatever the date) BUT then when they are exposed it will prove once again about the SEC being the best---just like last year when UF exposed some "great" team

This is one of the few non SEC games all season that I am going to watch. I have not seen either of these two programs all year, so I am looking forward to seeing Daniel and Reesing. We shall see if they are as good as people are saying.
