These were made infamous on Saturday Night Live by Jack Handey. People often ask me, "Is there a real Jack Handey, or is he simply a fictional character. Well, to all you doubters, eat one. Jack Handey is a real person. He served as a staff writer for several years and penned such infamous sketches as "Toonces the Cat Who Could Drive" and "Cave Man Lawyer" the latter featuring the late Phil Hartman as a Caveman who decides to pursue law after being unfrozen from a block of ice.
Jack Handey both wrote the "Deep Thoughts" segment and narrated it along with "Fuzzy Memories" which he also wrote.
!!!!! Fun Fact: Adam Sandler had a nickname for Mr. Handey when he was a cast member on Saturday Night Live. In predictable Adam Sandler fashion, he called him "Han-doo".
I will be providing a Deep Thought of the day as often as I can here on my blog.
And now...your Deep Thought of the Day
"When I found the skull in the woods, the first thing I did was call the police. But then I got curious about it. I picked it up, and started wondering who this person was, and why he had deer horns."
