Greg Hardy, our best player has missed 3 games worth of action this year due to discplinary reasons.. He never got thrown into a game after halftime while being beaten by a Sun Belt conference team, DJ Hall couldn't save you and the refs tried to save you but failed.. face it Alabama is a 4-8/5-7 team dressed by the refs, in 6-6 clothing.

I've been out of pocket at our cabin since Saturday. I just read this in the morning papers. I still don't know a lot about what happened but if they were stealing, then they should be on more than probation at the school but be in legal problems as well.

You steal, you go to jail. That's the way it should be.

Good excuse for us to fire Orgeron now. He's lost control of the team.

There's no legal problems. The items were immediately paid for by the players and the hotel did not press charges.

The only reason this came out is because Neal McReady was looking for something newsworthy after getting canned on his radio show. It was taken care for three-four weeks ago.

I find it kind of cute an amateurish that the Ole Miss players did this. Our Volunteers would never mess around with silly things like pillows and radios. If you are going to get in trouble have some fun. Have three coeds in your bed, smoke it up, or get really hammered and get into a fight at a bar. Those are things real programs do.

So it was swept away?

It was dealt with accordingly like it should have been. The players were disciplined at the time it occurred and everyone moved on. They just had to do a formal press release since a crazed journalist decided it was good enough to be front page material a month later.

If the players did more than take $20 worth of stuff, then it probably would have been worth noting. I realize that it's bad and/or wrong no matter the amount in the eyes of the law (a petty misdemeanor), but it's not as if they went on a Motley Crue rampage.

Was it classy?...not at all.
Was it right?...not at all.
Who's to Blame?...everyone from Coach O to the players involved.

However, Bama fans coming onto the Ole Miss section of this web site and frying us further is ridiculous. Five of your players got busted in October for "impermissible receipt of textbooks." How many games did Marlon Davis, Antoine Caldwell, Glen Coffee, Marquis Johnson, and Chris Rogers miss? Plus you guys have all kinds of recruitment violations to your credit.

My point being is this stuff happens to football programs of all levels at some point in History. It's not a big deal when Alabama suffers these kinds of infractions, right? I'm not defending a single player that is guilty, but Alabama would allow anybody on the field despite a criminal record if it meant winning. Not to mention that as a whole you have the largest trailer park following of any other SEC football program. You guys are all class right??

Get back in the Bama section. You guys need go ahead and start fabricating some penalties the refs didn't call after Auburn beats you for the sixth year in a row. Or thinking up some more excuses as to why you shouldered the most embarrassing loss of any SEC team this year. I mean we may not have an SEC win, but we somehow locked up LA. Paying for what you tried to steal isn't punishment, it's breaking even.

I wouldn't trust one of them in my home with me gone. Once again they have been taught that if you play some sport you get special treatment. Well, guess what, when their playing days are over, so is the special treatment.

The poor kid who steals a $5 item at Wal-Mart gets arrested and has their parents called. It's called a deterrent, shame, embarrassment, and he or she gets led out in handcuffs. I've seen a 12 year old girl crying and begging to be allowed to pay for the item, and pleading not to call her mother and father. But she lives in the real world. If these sweet kids (Ole Miss) had had their fun at Wal-Mart they would have been led out in handcuffs. They had better learn real fast that football won't always save them.

Do you work at walmart? I understand things can happen there but I have never seen a child in handcuffs. I bet by the time it is over the parents paid for the item and charges were dropped. Then a good parent would make the kid earn the money to pay for it and be grounded (with a spanking too). Sounds a bit familiar doesn't it.

You are either talking from the experience of been there done that or you have never seen a judge get pissed that you are logging up his court room with a $32.50 charge. I was playing golf with a judge just yesterday and brought up the subject. Being arrested for stealing isn't a lawsuit. It's a crime. It's called a misdemeanor and is punishable by fine and or jail sentence, usually up to 6 months. And I don't decide the laws of the States, they do.

Children learn to be responsible by being held to account for their actions, not by being allowed to walk away with a little slap on the wrist. If you allow a 14 year to steal he will continue. It is not my ethical standards that are in question it's the standards a society wishes to require of its people. You either require they be honest or you allow them to do as they will when they will.

When you take another person's property without paying you are a thief and when you make excuses for them you are an enabler.

I'll go back to the oldest rule I'm aware of.

If nothing else it cost too much to keep them there much less the court cost paid for by those who actually pay taxes. Community service is better and if volunteered community service occurs even better. If ya want to give jail time when it comes to sports go to baseball. Steroids without prescription is illegal. It doesn't matter what baseball said about whether they were illegal or not. Go to bigger things when ya want jail.

It doesn't matter what you want. When you steal you put yourself at the mercy of the law, and however good or bad, the thief will suffer the consequences of that crime. I don't get to decide the laws nor the consequences of the crime and neither do you. Only a fool will put himself at risk by stealing something of little value.

I saw a doctor's wife, who came in driving a $50,000 sports car, get arrested for a $15 item. She was handcuffed and led out of the building with everyone looking and watching. ONLY a fool risks this. Stealing isn't a lark it's a crime. And if you get caught you will wish the hell you had made a much better choice. Retail stores will prosecute you and that is a fact, and hotels will add the amount on to your credit card. You will pay new price for that old towel or pillow, it ain't free. Who told you your crap is more worthy than his? You say his posts are unworthy of being read and yet you very well do bother reading and answering. Look buddy quit ridiculing yourself, if You dont agree with Nikkas post, go ahead tell him about your opinion but keep in mind you are talking to one single young Ole Miss fan and not to all Ole Miss fans and community as a whole. So stop generalizing, if You have a problem with him throw your sh..t at him and dont throw the rest in the same pot as that wouldnt make you look any better and you already dont look very good. I actually expected some one in your age to know about simple stuff like that. Btw, an intelligent person doesnt judge based on nick names. There are loads of young people on this board and their nicks just fit to their young style and their state of mind. they just want to be unique and its not an Ole Miss fan syndrome at all.

Just look around yourself and you will see so many various crazy and meaningless nick names of bama fans (including the one of yourself). It doesnt indicate a sh..t. It doesnt say a sh.. t about the character behind it.

Regarding the subject, i think Jay said it well and there is nothing to add.

Im sorry Chinaski, my post was so far off base, thank you for setting me straight, now Ive gotta git right w/the Lord and I'll be back and be a better man.............Nikka please.....forgive me.........

And? What kind of logics is that?

Do you think the whole thing would be much more acceptable and the one who steals your car wouldnt be called a thief just because you expected your car to be stolen anyway?

Now dont turn polemic. I basically just asked you to stop generalizing and judging the whole Ole Miss fan community, based on the actions, thoughts, nick name or talks of "one single" Ole Miss fan. Is it really too much to ask for?

yep, I was being a smartypants but like you, I hate generalizing and I hate bickering, taunting on these boards and just bitching like a woman about other teams issues like we fans have anything to do with it and occasionally "go off" on select a$$wipes

so do forgive me for my slight

nice verbage as well but might polemical been more fitting?

No kiss. Yet enough is enough. I didn't steal the towel nor did I have it stolen from me so I really don't have a dog in this fight. Happy thanksgiving to ya too.
