Tonight, Ole Miss hits the Tad Pad again for it's second game of the new season. The South Alabama Jaguars with be traveling to Oxford in hopes of upsetting the Rebel basketball team, one of three SEC games on the Jaguars schedule. Last week, the Jags opened their season with a 73-41 victory over West Florida. The two teams have met only 3 times ever, with UM holding a 2-1 advantage.
The Jaguars had a very nice season last year, posting a 20-12 record and went 13-5 in the Sun Belt while earning Eastern Division champion honors. They return 3 starters from last season's squad.
No need for me to reiterate everything for the Rebs, you all know where we stand. We looked very good in our opening game, with freshman T. Gaskins having a breakout game from behind the arc. Several other young guys played well, and our big men set the tone for the game.
I think this will be a pretty close game for the most part, with Ole Miss prevailing in the end. Expect plenty of freshman mistakes tonight, but hopefully our big guys can get things done on the boards.
Final: UM-78
USA-67
