SHB - Thanks Bama, GT and Georgia Fans for your CLASS (http://potentialplayers.com/news_events_detail.aspx?id=17)

Brown shocked the recruiting world last week when he dropped OU from consideration. OU has been the presumed leader for Brown for quite some time with many thinking that Bama being right behind OU. But he has now dropped several teams and will be announcing his commitment in December. His list is now down to Florida, Kansas State, USC, LSU, Miami, and North Carolina.

The guy plays with explosiveness and intense hate for the opponent and I was both disappointed and relieved when he eliminated Bama. A recruit with a "mentor" is scary, especially with the dark cloud of the NCAA finally removed from T-Town. Maybe his mentor is just a guy with alot of free time and resources on his hand to be a players' advocate and he does it all out of the goodness of his heart. But it still seems a bit risky viewing from this fan's angle. Thoughts?

He'll end up at USC. I agree tim...it seems mighty suspcious that he has a "mentor". Let's hope USC "pays" for it in the end. :D

I'm not so sure if he's headed there. If USC ends up on probation because of the whole Bush incident, there's a good chance that could scare him away.

When I saw that he dropped us last week it deflated me a bit. But I really expected him to go to OU...but the fact that the news came out first that he dropped them and not us (which got me pumped). Whatever, he'll end up at U$C with an open hand.

And having one of the highest profile players in the nation have a agent like this is weird. He doesn't need one, its usually only needed for those looking for offers. IF AB asked to go to any team that he academically qualifies for, then he'd be there.$$$$$$$$$$$$

Whoever gets this guy is going to be so lucky its not even funny. Not only do they get Arthur, but they'll probably get his little brother Bryce, who's supposed to be a great RB.

Yeah, the package of him and his brother together is the real prize. AB is great, but I think we can and will do as well at the LB in this class as if he'd signed.

If a player thinks he's too good for Georgia, then I'm not sorry he's going elsewhere. All the other fans should feel the same way. We're proud of our athletes and academic standards, and if all a guy wants to do is go to a football school that is going to get him the most spotlight attention, then good riddance. I don't care for those kind of players. I'll take the team player who isn't getting a media circus that follows him around.

Anybody who doesn't want him doesn't have a chance at him in the first place. This guy being his advocate doesn't strike me as unethical... yet. Some parents prefer to let someone else field all the attention their child gets throughout the recruiting season; especially when the prospect is of AB's caliber, and the attention is constant and comes from about 20 or 30 different schools. They usually end up making the decision about where the student goes, as a family, anyway. I follow recruiting pretty closely, and while it does seem a little strange for a high school kid; I'll withhold judgement until I know more about this Butler guy's motives. I'm sure all the coaches are wary of his intentions. Crossing the line occurs at the point where the college coach offers a benefit for steering a kid a certain way. A prime example would be Nutt offering a high school coach a position on his staff in return for a couple of the players from his high school. Until something like that happens, this case sounds like the actions of a close family friend who has more time on his hands than the parents.

He'll still be signed to play there by the time they rule on that subject...just my opinion though.

He needs to come here. He wouldnt start right away but he would get PT. And could probably take Beckwith's spot in 2009.
