IMO the Heisman should be given to the best "total" player for the year not the best at running, throwing or catching the ball. Any thoughts?

That's what it was always intended to be; but, it has been transformed into many different awards over the years. Now, it looks like it's given to the best player who's also the most important contributor on a team that does well. There has to be some SportCenter worthy moments, and plenty of excitement. That's why guys like Dorsey, who may very well be the best player, won't win it. He'll likely get some recognition... maybe even an invitation to the show; but, there are a host of other awards for defensive players, so they tend to get left out of Heisman consideration. I remember Charles Woodson winning years ago; but he had ample opportunities to be a human highlight reel. And, he got that one shot to do "the pose" after a TD. He won it at that moment.

I say Tim Tebow, he is the most complete player in College football even though he is only a Sophomore. I heard the announcers at the SC game say his quarterback rating around 180 and the next closest one is 35 points away plus he has scored 19 touchdowns on the ground. He is virtually unstoppable inside the 5 yard line.

Actually that was Desmond Howard that did the Heisman pose againist tOSU in the 90's. Woodson just blew up againist tOSU in his final game in the Outhouse after David Boston talked crap about how Woodson couldn't shut him down. Plus CW played both ways as a WR and a DB.

The Heisman trophy goes to the player that the media loves the most.

I'm sure Woodson's chances at actually winning it are out the window after our loss to Mississippi State, which is starting to look less and less like a bad loss, but I believe he's earned the right to get a plane ticket to New York. He's gotta be Top 5.

Yeah, I wouldn't beat yourself up over losing to MSU. They gave us fits too. Anxiously awaiting that last game of the year, I bet, huh, Mr. Krinkle? It will be a good one.
