Marcus Monk hasn't played a down this year. So why isn't he redshirting?
I wonder if he isn't hoping to play enough to raise his draft stock in the NFL.
While I love his abilities while at Arkansas, I wonder how high he would go. He's not blazingly fast with something like a 4.5. He can leap pretty well, before the injury. He has great hands and concentration.
But are size, hands and the mental game enough in today's NFL. Maybe I'm just a pessimist but I don't see him being more than third or fourth on a pro roster.
So, if it isn't because he doesn't want to sit through another pathetic year with our QBs... why not redshirt? Then play a, hopefully, healthy year and get drafted higher. Maybe.
