That's not funny. It's not cool to kick a team when they're down. My pick would be either Auburn, or the Alabama team that played UT.

Bama is tied with LSU for 1st in the West. I picked UF to win the East, but I'm beginning to think UGA may derail that.

Yeah, Lord knows they've been playing some great ball, lately. Blown out by 3 TD's against UT, and a late 4th quarter score to slip by Vandy. Good call.

This is the SEC. Score comparisons are invalid this year.

Fine... they lost badly to UT; and were losing to Vandy all day, before getting lucky at the very end to pull out the win. Better? Either way, it's indicative of the quality of ball they're playing.
For some unknown reason I've got a sneaking feeling that Vandy is gonna cause a problem in the East and beat somebody they are not supposed to.

Give the guy a break. We all know that the only reason he didnt pick Bama is because not only are they in the title hunt, they will win it easily:unsure:

Wile they are theoretically still in the running for the SEC West, I'd have to say Auburn is the most dangerous team. Go ahead and call me a homer if you want but before you do just look at what this team has done. We won in the Swamp shutting out Florida until late in the 3rd. quarter and came within 1 play of winning in Baton Rouge. Auburn's defense completely shut down the best running attack in the Nation when we beat Arkansas in Fayetteville. Auburn destroyed a Vandy team that gave Georgia fits and beat South Carolina on the road. Auburn's two early season losses we're both down to the wire, last minute losses caused by our own mistakes. South Florida and Miss State barley beat this team despite all the turn overs we gave them. If memory serves me correctly we turned the ball over 3-5 times in both of those games and yet Auburn came within a play of winning those and the LSU game. Literally three plays are the difference in 8-0 and 5-3 for Auburn at this point of the season. Auburn has done all this with one of the youngest teams in the SEC including 3 true freshmen on the offensive line. Not only is Auburn dangerous, they are also poised to be one of the top dominate teams in the conference over the next several years.

i think auburn, bama, and UF are all "dangerous" as hell, but all are still in the title hunt. Hence, i agree with the original post. I think everyone has written off arkansas, but if you look at their losses, they lost by 3 on the road to bama, 2 at home to auburn in a defensive slugfest, and 13 at home to UK (could have gone the other way were it not for the fumble at the end of the first half). I think arkansas will beat FIU, Miss St, South Carolina, and possibly UT. I don't see them beating LSU, but they will be in the game in the 4th quarter.

While I do consider Auburn to be a dangerous team in the SEC, and they do seem to have "found" themselves in recent games, do you really think they are legitimate contenders for the West?? Both LSU and Alabama are ahead of them, and LSU owns the tie-breaker. I do believe that Auburn will beat Bama, but Bama will lose to LSU: they don't have an offense good enough to play through the Bengal's defense, and they don't have a D that will contain the Bengal's O well enough.
So Bama may well be taken out of the picture, but LSU will be left sitting pretty....

I listed them as being "theoretically" still in the hunt. It is very much a long shot that has about a 1% chance of happening. For Auburn to win the west we'd have to win out, LSU would have to beat Bama but lose to Arkansas and Ole Miss. Bama would have to lose to us and LSU both. If that scenario actually happens then LSU & Bama would have 3 SEC losses and Auburn would have 2. This can happen but it's not very realistic. That is why I said " theoretically" Auburn can still win the west. The thread is about teams that are not in the title hunt but are still dangerous. Wile Auburn is mathematically still in it, there isn't much of a chance of it happening.

USCs Offense has been shutdown the last two games. Butch Davis may have exposed their weaknesses.

Arkansas's defense is playing much better. Only allowing one touchdown in the last 2 games and one of those games was with Auburn and they werent the ones who scored the touchdown. QB play was better at Ole Miss but you cant tell much from that game. Basically, there is not a team in America that Arkansas cant beat on a given day. Problems is, there are many that can beat Arkansas with the current injuries and issues that Arkansas has. I think Arkansas is going to finish strong but I thought we would be 6-0 right now also so who knows.

I would say that Auburn is definitely the most dangerous team that is pretty much out of the title hunt. They have jelled under some good coaching.

I have to second this, Auburn went into the swamp and beat a very good Florida team. They follow that up with a great performance at Tiger Stadium that, even though it was a loss, I had to applaud. While I don't particularly care for Tommy Tub-o-ears, I will grudgingly state that he and his staff have lead Auburn out of the adversities and questions that the MSU and USF losses created and brought them to a place where they are confident in their abilities and perform well.

I would have to go with Arkansas because Auburn is still in the hunt although it is a longshot that LSU will lose twice. Also, Arkansas has a schedule that effects more teams that are still technically in it as they play South Carolina, Tennessee, and LSU

I'm assuming the target here is who is dangerous to SEC opponents. I wouldn't go so far to say the Hogs are the most dangerous. Maybe the most unpredictable.
I'll name three. Ole Miss, MSU and Vandy. The teams with their backs against the wall are always dangerous. They have nothing to lose. It's all about pride.
EDIT: Well, Vandy does have a winning record. But I still stand by the commentary. ;)

What happens if Bama beats LSU (long shot), Arky beats LSU, giving LSU 3 SEC Losses, then Auburn beat Bama, giving both Auburn and Bama 2 SEC losses with the tie breaker going to Auburn. I believe Auburn still goes to Atl, that is more likely to happen then arky and ole miss beating LSU.

I think if UK had a Defense half as good as LSU or Auburn we would be in the title hunt and be undefeated possibly. But thats only a wish lol. but yeh Auburn is a damn good football team.

Really the answer is EVERY team. When you have teams like Vandy, Ole Miss, and Miss State at the bottom of the conference, you know its dangerous everywhere you go. Ole Miss gave Florida and Bama fits. Miss. State beat Auburn and gave Tennessee problems. Vandy beat South Carolina.
Since that is a pretty cop-out answer, I'll have to go with Auburn. I assume the title hunt means that the team "controls their own destiny". Auburn has really come together after some disappointing losses at the first of the season. As long as they stay consistent and don't fall back to their early season habits, then they will be/are a very dangerous team. Brandon Cox is the key for Auburn. When he has his confidence, they play well. If he falls into another "lull", then Auburn could be in trouble.

That is possible but again unlikely. If it were to work out that way then Auburn would win the West via the head to head tie breaker with Bama. Another unforeseen circumstance of this would be Les Miles fate being similar to that of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini at the hands of an Italian mob during the waning days of WWII.
