We have all been wanting to play the other conferences straight up to prove that we are the best conference. The ACC and Big Ten have their challenge every yearin basketball. The SEC should get its schools together and challenge a conference to a challenge like the Big 10/ACC challenge. Obviously a 12 team conference would work best, but I am sure something could be arranged for a 10 or 11 team conference. They would schedule it so that based on how teams finished the year before they play each other like this:
SEC #1 vs ____ #1
SEC #2 vs ____ #2
SEC #3 vs ____ #3
etc.
I doubt it would get past the other conferences, but that would just show how they are scared :D.

Sound great, but it won't ever happen.

Why bother proving anything? Everyone already agrees we are the best conference. What we should be looking to do is get above the current conference structure. As it is we are just the best among 6 or 7 conference... If we thought big, the SEC could effectively relegate the other conferences to secondary status.
Expand to be THE 16 team superconference by adding the 4 biggest regional power programs (Texas, Oklahoma, FSU and Miami or Texas A&M). You do that... and then the SEC's only rival for revenue or recruits is the NFL. No other conferences could expand to put together anything even close to that. Even if you put together the best teams from all over the country it wouldn't rival that, you basically make every other conference battle in the country secondary.
You could start your own television network, make an exclusive coverage deal with one of the major networks, guarantee yourself a NC birth every year, start an in-conference playoff system, turn the bowl structure into a match-up of other conferences champions versus the SEC (#1 SEC vs. #1 other for NC; #2 SEC vs. some other conference winner; #3 SEC vs. some other conference winner)... the possibilities are endless.

What I hate is how other conference's fans always say we are scared to schedule them. I say its the other way around.
Yea, thats why Indiana didn't want to renew the annual fball game with UK.....they got tired of us kicking their arse.

You know, the EA Sports simulation on Gameday hasn't lost yet....picked every winner thus far. Anyone want to simulate some games on 360 and give us the results, lol?
Maybe the only way to settle this until we can get the games played on the field....
