Just the latest installment of the race for the Trophy. I've listed a few sites with their picks thus far in the season. The floor is open for discussion and debate. My homer pick, Tim Tebow, seems to be gaining ground each week.

Other sites will update their picks tomorrow.

Before this past weekend I didn't think Tebow was a legitemate pick for this years Heisman, but now he is as good as anyone I suppose.

Michael Hart is still my personal favorite, BUT he didn't play this past weekend and I seriously think that will hurt his chances.

I didn't think his ankle injury was too serious; but, this article is saying it's a bigger deal than initially reported. Despite teammates' prediction, Hart sits out - Football (http://media.www.michigandaily.com/media/storage/paper851/news/2007/10/22/Football/Despite.Teammates.Prediction.Hart.Sits.Out-3046839.shtml)

After Saturday's game I think John Parker Wilson is the # 1 contender and DJ Hall is #2.

Your nominations are gleefully accepted, I'm sure. My feeling is that Tebow has got the inside track...

Are you talking about for player of the week? Certainly you can't be talking about the heisman.:glare:

I was mainly joking and poking fun at our pathetic defense. If we could somehow get into the SEC championship game and played Bama again then JPW and DJ Hall would have a legitimate shot and a huge advantage over other contenders. They would be the only contenders to play our defense twice.

It looks like it will come down between Tebow and Woodson, whoever finishes out the season the best will win it. Either way it will be a player from the SEC and thats all that matters.

I can only hope your right. I would be proud as hell if Woodson won it. Tebow will have his chance in a year or two. As most of you know, I'm a Gator fan & an SEC fan:thumpsup:

While Tebow does likely have the inside track right now, let's not go overboard and make out like this is a lock for an SEC player at this point.

There are numerous great players out there and still a good many weeks of action left.

Agreed. That Dixon kid at Oregon can put up some big numbers in a hurry. Personally, I think we'll see Ryan fall off the radar as BC actually plays some decent teams. If Hart can get healthy fast enough to play in the last few games, he could still be in the picture. That story didn't indicate that he was ready to come back yet, though. I'm sure they're all (including Hart, himself) more worried about winning the games at Missingagain, and having him in the post-season, than whether or not Hart wins a personal award.

For a long time now, it seems that me and the Heismen voters don't see eye to eye. As an Arkansan and long time Razorback fan, I was thrilled when Darren McFadden repersented himself, and his state so well in 06 as he finished runner-up to the award.

I knew this season was going to be a hard uphill climb for Darren to repete, and stay at the top of the charts. To do so, you must win, stay in the public eye, that only CBS and ESPN can do for you. Thus far that hasn't happen, and Dmac, has fought nagging injurys and terrible play calling from a confused Arkansas staff.

So getting back to the Heismen voters, if they vote for Tim Tebow, I can't disagree with their choice. Cause IMO, Saturday Tebow show the nation, and Heismen committee what the definition of what a Heismen canidate is all about. Heart, toughness, and never say die attitude of being the leader of his team. That outting alone won this sophomore the 07 award.

You have to ask yourself, is this a guy you would want on you team? Heismen winners in the past, I can clearly say no to several. But how can you say no to this dude, He's a winner and a spark plug that makes others much better than they were when arriving in Gainsville.

If Tebow wants to win it, Florida is gonna have to win the SECC.

I gotta agree with TD. I like to see class act's win the Heisman. And Tebow is the best player as well. IMO

Here is a link to a story rivals did. It is the power rankings for quarterback. I agree with their assessment so far having Tebow first, then Woodson, and then Ryan.
