The rivalry begins: The countown for the LSU-Alabama game, also known as the "Saban Bowl" has already started, says Kevin Scarbinsky, a columnist for The Birmingham (Ala.) News. Scarbinsky writes that sportswriters in Tiger Stadium started talking about the game right after LSU's last-second 30-24 victory over Auburn. "Everything about Saban coming to Alabama has been bigger than life," he writes "It's only natural that LSU coming to Alabama to renew acquaintances with its old coach would be the biggest game in this series since, um, all the way back in '05." CBS announced Monday morning that it would televise the game, now scheduled for a 4 p.m. kickoff. Read the column here. That's media hype. The more they can hype this game, the more sponsors they can lure.

Things will be at such a fever pitch by the day of the game.....!
Remember what they said about Paul Bryant? He could take his and beat yours and take yours and beat his. It was the ultimate compliment.
Saban took LSU and beat Alabama, which didn't make him unique at the time. A lot of coaches were doing it.
But if he now takes Alabama in his first season in Tuscaloosa and beats LSU, his honeymoon here will be officially over.
It will be followed immediately by a coronation.
That's pretty funny, but the Saban hype will be over the top should he beat LSU
