What the heck! I can believe we couldn't do anything. I just assume he puts beecher in. He did well the few times he has played. Never ever put Mitchell in anymore... I like how he states that you can't trade players in college ball. We need to get on the ball or our chances are blown. This is ridiculous. Tenn, Ark and FL. Argh!

Vandy is a good team. They didn't show up for da barn game, like UGA didn't for the UT game. And probably like USC didn't for the VU game. There are no bad teams in the SEC.

The South Carolina fans don't need to beat themselves up too much over the loss to Vandy. If ever there were a year when anyone can beat anyone on any given weekend this is the year. Vandy is a pretty good team the past 2 or 3 years and can win against anyone - maybe not every weekend but they can win against anyone when they are up for the game.

I wouldn't say our entire offense sucks. That's not a fair statement. Our offensive LINE sucks. If you noticed, the few times the line gave us enough time, good things happened. Don't worry about it, though. I'd rather lose to Vandy than Tenn at this point. The 'Dores have a good team, and we're still in it.

I got this quote from someone on facebook and thought it was pretty funny.
"our offense couldn't score last week in a whorehouse with a handful of dollar bills."

It should be an interesting week of practice down in Columbia.

It should and I wouldnt be surprised to see a lot of OL getting benched this week. It's time to bring Clifton Geathers back to the OL.

I don't think we win at UT but I think we're more competitive. Right now the biggest thing is for Spurrier to understand that he doesn't have the line for a 5 or 7 step drop passing game. If UT watches the film from the last two weeks they will pin their ears back and come after us early. If Spurrier is able to let go of some of that pride and run screens, draws, and slants, then we might have a chance to do something on offense. The bottom line is we have to keep them honest early on.

Vandy is a good team. They played well and deserved that win. Our OL caused us to lose that game as well as Vandy. There wasn't much our QB's could do to prevent it. And as for Mitchell. He has the best arm of any of the QB's we have playing right now in my opinion. The interception he threw was because the receiver ran the wrong route. Mitchell seems to get blamed for everything and he doesn't deserve it. If you will recall he is the only QB in Carolina history to ever have beaten FL, TN, GA, AR, KY, VU and CU in his career. If he had a dependable OL to play behind he could be what he was at the end of last year which was MVP of the bowl game, remember?

Saying Mitchell is better because he's the only QB we've had that beat certain teams is like saying that Reagan was the greatest president ever because the USSR fell while he was in office. One thing had little to do with the other. We beat Tenn cause we had a kicker, we beat CU cause they didnt have a kicker, etc etc. Sidney Rice and Succop had more to do with us winning ball games than Mitchell. He's a fifth year Sr. and he still has problems, still makes mistakes on and off the field, and still plays bad if he doesnt get much pass blocking. He's the past, Smelly is our future.

How is Mitchell supposed to play well with the pass blocking he is getting presently? It doesnt matter if Tom Brady is under center for USCe, we wouldnt have been able to do anything with the pass protection we are getting from the Oline. Half of our sacks on Saturday were due to blitzes out of the secondary going completely unblocked, and Mitchell and Smelly were both getting (on average) less than 3 seconds to get rid of the ball. Saying a Drop back QB is bad because he cant play without pass blocking is ridiculous.

If you honestly think Chris Smelley is near Blake at this point in terms of talent, watch tapes from the second have last season again, particularly the Arkansas game(17 consecutive completions on 17 consecutive pass plays), the Clemson game, and the Bowl game.

Blake Mitchell is the present.
Stephen Garcia is the future(He will start next season).
Chris Smelley's career as a starter is likely over.

Yeah, I'd say if Vandy were in any other conference, we'd go bowlin every year.

For all those blaming JUST the O-Line, it seems that Spurrier disagrees as he gave a lot of the blame to the QB's for not getting rid of the ball quickly enough.
